From the owner

Secluded and very well appointed property in 1.8 acres of mature garden with views of Green and Bird Islands on the East coast of Antigua- Nonsuch Bay. There is a private sandy beach with its own small dock; very good for small (and large) children to swim or learn to snorkel Another large dock which has a boat lift, is a perfect place to fish from. Lots of fish gather under and around the dock; a Puffer fish has been in residence for many years now. There is a completely unspoilt reef just off the dock; the sea-life is just amazing.

Infinity swimming pool, with two large sunbathing areas either side. Underwater lights light the pool up at night.

Three bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, main bedroom also has an additional outside shower; two bedrooms share family bathroom plus additional toilet and outside shower. All bedrooms have air conditioning and fans.

Study/tv room with air conditioning. Large and comfortable sitting room which seats around 12 people with ceiling fans;the kitchen has all necessary equipment including large fridge freezer with icemaker as well as an additional drinks fridge . A large oven, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine are available.

There is plenty of sitting/launching areas to both the sea and garden side of the house. In addition, there is dining for ten or more people outside under the pergolas, both to the Sea and garden sides of the house. The property benefits from facing East; just like the old Estate Houses; this gives a gentle breeze through main inside areas of the house, as well as four out of the five bedrooms. You can dine to the sound of the sea on the seaside; alternatively watch the "tinkerbells" and listen to sounds of the tropics while dining/sitting on the garden side.

Maid service is provided three times a week, is included in the rental. At additonal charge a cook can be arranged to prepare meals. The Nonsuch Resort to the left has a restaurant within 10 minute walking distance.

Use of a 29ft. twin engine motor boat would be possible during the winter months, at additional charge for fishing/exploring the many deserted islands/beaches in the area; a local captain would need to arranged. There are two sail boats on our beach which can be used, provided a prior arrangement and a breakage deposit received.

Property is suitable for Weddings as well as family holidays. There is the possibility of renting a self contained 110sq.meter apartment within the property at additional cost. It has a fully fitted kitchen, Airco, fans etc with a nice veranda overlooking Nonsuch Bay/Bird and Green Islands and can sleep 2 adults and 2 children. Depending upon the season, there will be oranges, limes, papayas and bananas to pick from the trees and tomatoes and vegetables in the garden.

Nonsuch Bay is a haven for birdlife and many species of fish are to be found. There are many attractions close by; famous Half Moon Beach 10 minute drive for body surfing with two beach side restaurants, English Harbour with its historical buildings and docks, 25 minute drive, Falmouth, 20 minutes; rain forrest and zip linings 30 minutes, St. John the main town is 25 minute drive away.

Mr. Aas and his extended family(at times up to 15 people) from this region proved to be a big challenge. Our housekeeper had to cook, wash and clean for this party without a word of thank or tip. And yes, the electric part of the gate broke down early December; its replacement was stuck in customs due to a strike. If not, it would have been fixed before his arrival. Manually it worked fine. The stove is in good repair, other than the door spring is faulty; a pin holds it in place. The bed did not collapse but the wooden slats under the bed did move; not sure how this happened. Mr. Aas fails to mention that a workman came the same day. With so many people, providing hot water would be a challenge. The solar tank provides this with the addition of an electric heater. Again, as soon as the complaint was made, a technician was called to check things out. Mr. Aas did write on the 18th January and received a reply two days later. In his letter, he states: I understand that sometimes things like this happen, but we normally see some consideration in these situations. We would like you to provide a partial refund in compensation. A host who takes care of their guests gets a better review. This comment was taken to be some kind of "blackmail"; not nice considering every effort had been made for his stay. A hot meal and drinks f.e.were provided for the whole family on his day of arrival, but clearly not appreciated. The guest who followed made no complaints, and were extremely happy to be in Compass Point. As have all our other guests in the past.
