From the owner

Raasay is a modern, purpose built holiday cottage with ramp access and all on one level. There is private access to a beach just 40 metres in front of the cottage

Large picture windows give magnificent views over the Atlantic ocean towards Skye and The Minch, Harris and Lewis. Being in a designated National Scenic Area, and in a Dark Skies area, you'll see picturesque views during the day, plenty of stars at night, and there's even a chance to see the Northern Lights

The house is just 4 miles from the beach at Big Sand, voted Scotland’s best beach 2022 in the Sunday Times

The Beinn Eighe Reserve and the Torridon Mountains are just a short distance away. This is the perfect place to get away from it all, and if you are looking for outdoor activities including walking, bird watching, fishing, kayaking and whale and seal watching, then this is the holiday rental for you! Sea eagles and Golden eagles are often seen around the cottage area, and binoculars are provided to help you spot them!

Raasay is independently owned, and we have considerably enhanced and upgraded the facilities. This is our holiday home, and we look forward to sharing it with you

Included in the cost of your holiday:

*Electricity and oil fired central heating/hot water (electricity is NOT supplied for charging EV's and such use is prohibited except by agreement with the owner - you can find public charging points in Gairloch)

*Towels and bed linen

*High speed fibre wifi

*Initial supply of logs for wood burner (please note: the wood burner does not have a fire guard and should not be used when small children are present. Never leave children unattended, the fire gets extremely hot - use at your own risk)

The bathroom includes a bath and a walk-in shower

Note: We have our own private access to a public beach in front of the house. It is accessible over croft land, which is often a little wet - wellies are advised. In addition the access down to the beach is steep and not suitable for less mobile people, and great care should be taken. Accessing the beach is undertaken at your own risk, and children should not be allowed onto the croft or beach unless supervised by an adult.

Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times unless in the enclosed gardens. Please note that there are sheep on the surrounding croft lands, and you must not allow your dog to worry the sheep. Dogs are charged at an additional charge of £15 per dog per stay. Payment to be made separately to owner.

We have a wide selection of board games, jigsaw puzzles and books for your enjoyment.

Interaction with guest

Raasay is our holiday home, so we aren't local. We'll leave you to enjoy your holiday without any interference from us. We have plenty of information on local attractions, walks, guides, maps and more in the sideboard. In addition, the cottage has high speed fibre broadband, so you can use any device you bring with you to search the internet for even more information. In the unlikely event of a problem or emergency, we have a local team in place ready to help, and if you have any queries during your stay, you can call us and we will do our best to help you.
