The Villa and Location---Totally refurbished stunning lake side Villa set in 1/2 an acre with outstanding lake views, located in the very pretty, safe and peaceful village of Elalba. Less than 5 minutes walk from the beautiful Koggala Beach and the world renowned 5 star Fortress Hotel & Spa, 10 minutes to Koggala sea plane airport,15 minutes to the new highway and 20 minutes to the historic Galle Fort.

The main house offers three fully air conditioned bedrooms, two with en suite bathrooms including walk in closet/wardrobes and the third bedroom with a separate bathroom. Large bespoke kitchen with breakfast bar area and separate utility room, open- plan dining area and wrap round 10ft verandas. There is a lounge where you can relax and watch the world go by on the lake, read or play one of our many board games. A Satellite TV and Wi-Fi are included.

The second building houses the 4th guest bedroom and en suite bathroom although this room has no A/C it has a ceiling fan and is very comfy

The land is split level, with the house elevated and the garden on the lower level, here you will find a 40ft swimming pool and lake-side frontage. There is large teak jetty (a perfect spot to watch the wildlife and local fishermen) where the boat is moored. Supervised fishing trips or lake tours can be arranged.

The garden is completely walled, giving it total privacy. It is mainly lawn but has many mature trees including; breadfruit, mango, avocado and of course coconut palms.

The construction of the house has been overseen and project managed by the British owners, using only the finest quality, locally sourced materials. It is fully furnished with solid traditional furniture. The property has the benefit of 3 phase electricity supply, government mains water supply, a large fresh water well plus solar and electric water heaters.

The staff consists of Jagath and his wife Tillani, who have been with us for nine years, they have become part of our family. Their responsibilities include; cooking breakfast, cleaning, laundry, making beds, gardening, driving, babysitting and security.

Jagath’s will assist and help with the running of the house, shopping, driving and making sure your stay is as pleasurable as possible. Tim can arrange for many activities, places to go and things to see. There is a 3 wheeler Tuk Tuk which can carry 4 people and is great for nipping around. However, we can arrange for a rental car, with or without driver, at a very reasonable rate.

Jagath and his wife will make any type of breakfast you wish which is fully included - fruit plates, smoothies, omelet’s or Sri Lankan breakfast curries, jam and toast, tea, coffee etc. His wife Tillani can also prepare and cook amazing traditional Sri Lankan food for lunch or dinner if you so wish. You will be required to pay an additional cost for this wich will be arranged through Tim,

If you require something a bit more special then Tim can arrange for a Chef to be on site again at an additional cost, there will of corse be tea, milk, bread, sugar etc when you arrive.

Koggala Lake is a salt water lake and is famous for it's delicacies such as; prawns, crabs, oysters, clams and many other species of fish, these may be purchased directly from the passing fishermen ( YUM YUM )

The ‘Magical Mystical Island’ (directly opposite the jetty) referred to in the famous novel "Madol Doowa" by Martin Wickramasinghe is well worth a visit.

Transport to and from the airport can be arranged for you to be picked up on arrival, or you can take the sea plane which is a 30 minute flight which lands on Koggala lake,10mins away from the villa.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send James (the owner) a message.

If James (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
