It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Castlelough Holiday Cottages, near Garrykennedy, Co. Tipperary. Nestled along the “Lough Derg Way” on the eastern shores of Lough Derg, we offer you a choice of three 4* Failte Ireland approved self catering cottages Fraoch, Cornode and Lackaroe. Our cottages are centrally located, 1.5 miles from Garrykennedy and ideal for a short break or extended holiday in Ireland.

Perfect for holidays at any time of year. Ideal for couples and families. A haven for fishermen and nature lovers.

Lough Derg is the largest and most beautiful of the Shannon lakes. It is renowned for its coarse fishing. In this tranquil location you can experience the peace and quiet of the real Ireland.

Co. Tipperary is a tourists’ paradise, an area of great charm and natural beauty, with hills, rivers, rolling countryside, clean air and a landscape steeped in history and heritage. It is a great touring base for exploring the many sights of the Shannon region.

Fraoch is nestled off The Lough Derg Way on the eastern shores of Lough Derg near Garrykennedy. This is an area of great charm and natural beauty. In this tranquil rural setting you can experience the real Ireland.

The house is set in a large lawned garden. Guests have access to the owners adjacent private harbour. The house is spacious, comfortable and furnished in pine. German and French tv channels available.

Fraoch sleeps 6 people , spacious and comfortable, is fitted and equipped to 4* standards.

Oil fired central heating.

Large living/dining room, tastefully furnished with wood burning stove.

Kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker, microwave and dishwasher.

Utility room has washing machine and dryer.

3 bedrooms; 1 double bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms. Bed linen and towels provided.

Bathroom with bath tub.

Shower room with electric shower.

Fraoch is centrally located and ideal for a short break or extended holiday in Ireland. Perfect for couples and families. Tipperary is a tourists’ paradise and a great base for exploring the sights of the Shannon Region and beyond.

Lough Derg is renowned for its coarse fishing. A fridge and freezer is available for bait.

There are forest and hill walks locally. Aquatic activities are well catered for in Killaloe.

Plenty of restaurants and pubs in the local villages and towns.

Garrykennedy 1 mile, restaurant and 2 pubs, traditional music during the season.

Portroe 4 miles, Nenagh 10 miles, Ballina/Killaloe 10 miles.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Gerardine (the owner) a message.

If Gerardine (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
