IL NIDO is a delightful apartment (size 50 sq meters) completely and well restored according Tuscan style, located in the historical charming medieval hamlet of Gavorrano at High Maremma in Tuscany (South-west). Gavorrano is placed on the top of a hill (altitude of 273 m), few kilometres far from the Follonica gulf seaside and the beautiful beaches of Punta Ala and Castiglione della Pescaia.

The village is very quiet and panoramic with a great view over the countryside to the sea where the sun set in a gorgeous sight.

The landscape is the typical Tuscan one with vine-yards, olive grove, rows of cypresses and Mediterranean flora with its beautiful colors and scents.

The apartment, recently fully restored, is really picturesque with attractive wooden- beam ceiling and antique terracotta floor maintaining the original features and the charm of the period when it was built. It is furnished in antiques. It is placed at the ground floor of a characteristic two-storied building in a typical little street, with an independent entrance. It is composed by a small kitchen, a living-room with an ancient delightful fireplace and a double bed divan, one bedroom with a double bed and a bath with shower box. Into the house you will find information for your sightseeing.

THE APARTMENT IS IDEAL FOR A COUPLE OF PEOPLE OR FOR A FAMILY WITH 1 OR 2 CHILDREN.

It's a strategic and ideal location being near to the sea (10 km) and to towns of art such as Siena (60 km), Massa Marittima (20 km), Pisa (100 km), Lucca (125 km), Firenze (160 km), Roma (185 km).

Easy reach of Elba and Giglio isles by boat. The famous archaeological areas of Populonia, Vetulonia and Roselle and the well known natural park of Uccellina, Castiglione della Pescaia and Punta Ala are few kilometres far away.

For people who loves to bathe during winter, spring and fall time the Venturina Thermal baths (springs) are open all year round.

Gavorrano is located on the Wine Road and so it's an ideal place for tasting excellent wine (the most famous D.O.C. Monteregio di Massa Marittima and the Suvereto) and eating good Tuscan dishes. In fact there are a lot of restaurants where you can appreciate delicious food and wine.

Wine production is the most important activity of the whole area and Gavorrano is one of the greatest producers. Gavorrano is moreover famous for the old mines of pyrite, nowadays closed and making part of the ArchaeoMine Park. In that park a theatre has been recently built and during summer time many performances are played by famous artists. Moreover Gavorrano became famous by the history of Pia de'Tolomei, mentioned by Dante Alighieri in his masterpiece “Divina Commedia” Purgatorio canto 5°

The clear water sea, the mild climate all the year long, the possibility of playing all kind of sports and the choice of rocky or sandy white beaches makes the Maremma coast one of the most required place all over the world for holidays.

This land, rich of history and medieval hamlets, will offer you an unforgettable holiday with its culture, art, beautiful sea, natural parks and unpolluted nature. In Follonica you can find a great Water park.

In the village you'll find all the services you need: there are many shops (supermarket, post office, bank, tourist office, pizzeria, bars, confectioner's etc.), walking distance from the property.

Car is necessary although Gavorrano is served by local buses.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The apartment is very fresh in summer time. There is not a garden or terrace but you can seat out the apartment in the picturesque street where no cars are allowed. There is a bench and pots with plants just outside the apartment and the little street is very quiet and relaxing. In a part of the street local persons seat out for talking during summer timeQuality of life in Gavorrano has been preserved and remained as it was many years ago when people were sitting outside in the summer evening to chat. Gavorrano is still remained a pristine village where you see the real life than once. Anyway in the village you have all the amenities that makes comfortable your holiday.
