*****THE HOUSE***The property consists of a two-storey stone house, with wooden roof and unique architectural style. It is newly-built, on the site of our old family summer house, in a green field with pines, willows and fruit trees. The traditional furniture and heirlooms, give a unique feel to the inside space. The main entrance opens to a two-story living-room with a fireplace. To the right is the fully equipped, large kitchen. A hallway leads to the rear areas of the house. There are two bedrooms with a magnificent view of the field. There is a wardrobe and two single beds in each one. There is also a stone bathroom with a bathtub. On entering the house, a wooden staircase leads to the bedroom-loft, which has visual contact with the living-room. There 's a comfortable double bed with mosquito net and a bathroom with a shower. The privilege of the house though, is the magnificent courtyard. The large terraces that surround the house are furnished with a dining table and a coffee table. There you can enjoy your dinner or coffee, overlooking the beautiful green field.****THE AREA***The property is 29 km from the town of Mytilene, near the Gulf of Gera. The bay is an area endowed with unique beauties, located in the southeastern part of the island. On the location of Halatses - a lush valley full of olive groves - are scattered the traditional summer houses of Gera. The house is just 200 meters from the sea and the small beach next to the old windmill, where is also a canteen that is open during the summer months. In half a mile from the house is the picturesque village of Perama, known for its small fishing harbor and the traditional stone buildings of the 19th century olive oil production. The village provides everything one might need: freshly baked bread, mini market open all week, traditional tavernas with fresh fish and cafes serving ouzo and "meze". Perama (meaning passage in greek) is considered as the seaport village of Gera and was named because of its location, as it is the passage from the West to the East bank of the Gulf. Nearby are the remaining villages of Geras, Papados, Plakados, Skopelos, Paleokipos and Messagros, that worth a visit to admire the traditional architecture. Over the villages in the lush mountain Karionas one can enjoy hiking trails and a great local cuisine.***INTERACTION WITH GUESTS***Guests will be received in the town of Mitilini and driven home, where they will be given detailed information about the property and the area.***TRANSPORTATION***There are regularly traditional boats that part from Perama and take you to the opposite shore of the bay, where a responding bus to Mitilini is waiting.***OTHER FACILITIES***The house is fully equipped with bed-linens and kitchen items and a few essentials such as coffee, sugar, olive oil and spices.
