From the owner

"The Abbey" is 1824 sq ft and a historic colonial manor built in 1830 though 1933. The B&B is a(licensed Bed and Breakfast) and is located in Cashtown the (Gettysburg area), and is only located seven minutes from the very famous Gettysburg Battlefield. Cashtown is a small village and in 1863 during the Civil War, General Robert E. Lee and the Army of Northern Virginia...and a few generals made their headquarters at Cashtown Inn during the battle. The manor was once owned by President Dwight Eisenhower's secretary. She use to live in this house. Ike and his wife, Mamie visited this house!

The Civil War soldiers camped on these grounds and General Lee marched his troops by the manor. The beautiful manor sits on almost two acres of a park like setting. "The Abbey" invites you to come and experience the relaxed atmosphere of a bygone era.

If you wish, your time at "The Abbey" can be packed with many things to do. The Abbey is located only two miles away in either direction to wineries. Please come and delight in the nearby train rides, miniature horse farm, Liberty ski resort nearby, battlefield tours and Civil War ghost walks. Don't forget....the area is also known for antiques, fresh fruit stands/orchards, pubs and fine dining.

GPS users may need to put alternate Orrtanna for the city versus Cashtown. Both ways will get you to "The Abbey'!

The Abbey is a place to take you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living!

We welcome you to "The Abbey" and hope to see you soon!
