"The Abbey" is 1824 sq ft and sits on almost two acres of grassy land on a quiet road just seven minutes from the Gettysburg Battlefield. Located in Cashtown, Pa in the Gettysburg area. The property includes a small white historic cottage and a historic barn. The manor is decorated to reflect the late Victorian and Edwardian era. There is also a touch of the Civil War tones. There are also decor , of "Downton Abbey" sitting through the house to include the Abbey bedroom.
President Eisenhower and his wife Mamie use to visit this house frequently; The President's secretary use to own this house!
There are a few Victorian benches tucked under the shaded trees and plenty of room to have a old fashioned picnic on the grounds if you desire.
"The Abbey" is close to two wineries in either direction. "The Abbey" can be packed with many things to do! There are nearby train rides, miniature horse farm, horseback riding, golfing, skiing , battlefield tours, Civil War ghost walks, the area also known for fresh fruit stands/orchards, pubs and fine dining.
