Giglio Castello is a fortified medieval village situated at 400m altitude on the beautiful Tuscan island of Giglio. It has a unique atmosphere thanks to narrow, granite-paved streets, delightful close-built houses, spectacular natural scenery and breathtaking views of mainland Argentario and nearby islands Giannutri, Monte Cristo and Elba.

This apartment, 'Donna Lidia', is one of the largest and most attractive homes available in Giglio Castello. It is a cool, bright, spacious and fully renovated house on the upper two floors, located in a quiet pedestrian street inside this charming medieval village. On the first floor is a double bedroom, lounge with armchairs, TV and sofa bed, a dining area for 8, a large fitted kitchen and bathroom with shower. The second floor has a double/twin bedroom, sitting room with coffee table, comfortable chairs and sofa bed and a bathroom with shower and bidet, accessible from both the bedroom and the sitting room. The property has been restored with great care to conserve its original character and to provide a comfortable holiday home for those who appreciate the special atmosphere of Giglio Castello. Free parking, shops, bars, pizzerie and restaurants are all within a few minutes' walk and the Castello itself provides fascinating, friendly surroundings for children to play safely.

Clean, sandy beaches are 10 minutes away by bus or car, others may be reached on foot or by boat, and the sea is renowned for its crystal-clear water. At the beaches you can hire sun-beds, umbrellas, canoes and pedalos, while at Giglio Porto there are excellent diving facilities, water taxis to take you to a quiet bay and motor boats for hire if you want to explore the coast on your own.

There are excellent restaurants for all tastes at Castello and at nearby Porto, while bars and shops are just down the street. A holiday on Giglio is a truly unforgettable experience and many people return to the island year after year to enjoy its very special hospitality.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Tony (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
