Beautiful chateau with private pool in a magnificent setting, the local tourist authority has awarded Villa Theophile a 4 star rating. Well maintained, with eight bedrooms, six bathrooms and vast living spaces indoors and out, this is the perfect place for family and friends to share a memorable holiday, enjoy time together and explore the area. The perfect venue for your yoga retreat or artists workshop. If you're coming from the UK, the TGV rail service direct from London to Avignon has made getting to this part of Provence even easier.

Set in woodland with stunning views from every window, the vineyards of Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes de Venise encircle the chateau. This property and its lovely gardens have plenty of space for groups of family or friends to have fun together in a very private setting.

The house has been renovated to a high standard and is just waiting to be enjoyed. The pool terrace and barbecue are always favourites and there are some lovely spots around the garden, inviting a pause to enjoy the view.

The full time caretaker on site looks after pool and grounds, so there is always someone on hand if you have any questions.

The village of Vacqueyras is exactly a mile away, with a baker, butcher, pharmacy, newsagent, greengrocer, small weekly market and a good restaurant. There is a larger supermarket just 5 miles/8km away. For wine-lovers, the local winemakers of the Cotes du Rhone Villages are waiting to offer you a tasting of their fine wines.

This place is perfect for those who like to stay in one place and relax for a change on holiday.

For those who like to get out and about a bit more, the vast Provencal markets of Vaison la Romaine and Carpentras are a great way to spend a morning shopping for produce and souvenirs. There are no fewer than three Unesco World Heritage Sites - The Pont du Gard, the Roman Amphitheatre in Orange, and the Palais des Papes in Avignon - within an hour's drive. And in summer, the festivals of Avignon (theatre and comedy), Orange (music) and Vaison (dance) are not to be missed.     How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Phillipa (the owner) a message.

    If Phillipa (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
