Days for a great break in the historical centre of a small pretty city!
The apartment is in the heart of the old town, on a privileged location: right in front of the riverside. So you'll see the birds fishing in the morning, and the sun sets will just be yours, on a huge 4 meters wide window on the river.
In addition to the views, the silence is one of the pros of the apartment; the river is very quiet, and as I live on the apartment below your you won't have parties every night (or you'll be one in it! :) )
The place has one big room; on one side the bed, very comfortable and wide, and on the other the sofa-bed and the computer. It doesn't feel small as the ceiling is very high, and a nice (sort of) Japanese wall separates the two parts.
This room can be perfectly closed so no light comes in if you need absolute darkness to sleep. This room has air conditioning and central heating, and also a couple of fans if you are not friend of a.c.
Next to this room, the huge gallery has this views on the river: some 4 meters wide windows, with the typical Mediterranean blinds, painted in blue. Over there you have a small kitchen, working on electric: vitro-ceramic cooks, and microwave. Also a fridge of course.
The bathroom is small but very comfortable: as the hot water comes from a gas heater, you will never miss a good shower.
As you can see in the pictures, the decoration is spare so you won't be disturbed, and the parquet flooring makes it very worm and cosy. We have tried to make it simple and elegant.
We have recently added a washing machine in a small room on the entrance, that you can use free of charge.
Neighbours: the building has 4 floor. Above yours, a nice guy that grows tomatoes on the roof. In front, the other apartment to rent but there are two doors in between so you'll hardly hear anything. And below yours, my own apartment.
The basement of the building is a nice bar called La Terra, but no music comes through (I am very sensitive to ambiance music!)
The apartment has recently been renovated, and the builing was made by a famous local architect, Rafel Maso. It has its museum two doors away, but unfortunately our building has only a few details on Maso style.
As the apartment is just in the city centre, everything is there: restaurants, take away food, supermarkets, museums... and of course the cathedrals, les Rambles... Actually I have a blog with my recommendations of Girona- I can't write the web address in there, but you'll have it when you book.
Girona is a small city so it takes less than 20 minutes to get anywhere from the centre: the train station is about 20 minutes walk.
There is no transit behind the apartment, apart from birds passing by.
As we want the things to be really easy, you may check in as late as you need as the apartment lock works with a code. Also, you may check out late if there is no booking for the same day.

Girona is a city that call for long walks, for quiet evenings with a glass of wine, or maybe for a theatre or music night? Also, at it is very safe, you can walk until late at night, by the old wall, by the river...
There a good number of occasions to visit Girona: Girona temps de flors, when all the city is dressed with flowers, or by Easter, with the Processó de Setmana Santa. Also Fires by end octuber (thou it may be a bit crowded).
There is a very nice bar downstairs, and they'll let you pick your order upstairs and enjoy it at the apartment.
You won't find a nicest place in Girona. Also, as I am a private owner I can keep the price very reasonable.
Please contact me if you plan a long stay during low season. I am very open to long stays. We already have had a writer and a journalist with good inspiration!

We offer you the best choice: wonderful views in the centre of Girona. The building was designed by an architect of the Noucentisme: Masó. The apartment has been fully restored, and now it is a very quiet and cosy place to rest and enjoy your time.
The atmosphere of the apartment is very relaxed, with parket floor and high ceiling. Ideal for your dream holidays.
We offer you a computer, wifi and washing machine free of charge.
The kitchen is fully equipped if you feel like cooking at home. Most of our customers enjoy a meal outdoors, and they are happy with a salad in the evening.
If you like waking up early, you'll see the river coming alive under your view: ducks, sea-gulls and fish. With some luck, a fisher bird (the black I mean) with fly by. Or you'll see it on the river, after eating a big carp.

Parking:
The Old Town has restrictions on cars: you are allowed to drive in 3 times, enough to leave and collect your things. Then a free parking area, on the street, is just 10 minutes walk away. The good thing is that we can enjoy the Old Town without cars.

Nature:
Girona is surrounded by natural parks;
- in town, there are a good number of beatiful garders, around the city wall
- in 10 minutes walk you are out of town, on the vegetal garder area. And in half an hour you are surrounded by woods.
- with a car: Cap de Creus and Volcans d'Olot are very attractive and worth a visit.
- also, the sea is 40 minutes way by car, and in winter you sky in 2 hours drive.
