From the manager

This detached, ground floor cottage in Glenelg can sleep seven people in three bedrooms. Torgorm is a detached single-storey pet-friendly cottage in a superb elevated position in Glenelg, with views towards the Isle of Skye. The cottage offers two double rooms, one with additional single sofa bed, and a twin room. There is a bathroom and a shower room, along with a kitchen with dining area offering superb views, a utility and a sitting room with woodburning stove. Outside is off road parking for two cars, and a front and rear enclosed garden with furniture. Torgorm is ideally placed for enjoying this wonderful part of the Highlands, which also offers easy access to the Isle of Skye.

Amenities: Oil central heating with multi fuel stove. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, CD/radio, super fast WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair on request. Ample off road parking. Front and rear enclosed garden with furniture. One well-behaved pet welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 10 mins walk. Note: Steps inside and outside of property, may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Note: Track leading towards property is uneven in places, take care when driving/walking along it.

Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Town: Situated just 10 miles from the main route to Skye is the small coastal village of Glenelg. Set on the shores of the Sound of Sleat, the village is surrounded by incredible, rugged scenery and has preserved its unspoilt beauty and sense of isolation, despite being within easy reach of the area's tourist attractions. Overlooking Skye, Glenelg is situated on a route once used by drovers from the island, crossing over the narrow Kyle Rhea straits to bring their cattle to market. Just a couple of miles away, on the Arnisdale road, visitors can find Sandaig bay - referred to as Camusfearna by Gavin Maxwell in his novel Ring of Bright Water. There is even a cairn for his beloved otter, Edal. Glenelg is also home to the best preserved Pictish Brochs on mainland Scotland and is the site of the ruins of Bernera Barracks - an 18th Century garrison for English government troops that still stands next to the village.
