From the owner

Le Chateau de la Vallee is idyllically set in beautiful rolling countryside.next to the beautiful Forest of Eu and nestling on the edge of the pretty village of Grandcourt. It is divided into two wings, each sleeping up to 10 people, and the wings can be rented separately or together, creating enough room for 20-24 people, plus there's a pretty 3 bedroomed cottage sleeping up to 6 people in the grounds which can be rented with the chateau to create a maximum capacity for the whole property of 26-30 people, or you can rent the Cottage on its own. The beach at Criel-sur-Mer is just a 15 minute scenic drive away and the cities of Dieppe and Abbeville are just half an hour away, while Paris is an easy two hour drive. The Chateau and its Cottage are fantastic properties with their own heated pool which have been lovingly renovated retaining a vast array of original features without being too fussy. They are furnished in a period style in keeping with their rustic surroundings and provide lots of little luxuries that make a holiday here something quite special.

The cottage is definitely as described - a cosy cottage but is certainly equipped to host 4 adults and two children as there is a double bedroom upstairs, a twin bedded room downstairs with two single beds and a small bunk bedded room upstairs which is more ideally suited to children rather than adults, even though the mattresses are regular single sized. If you want spacious and voluminous then I'd recommend you book the chateau which is much bigger. I own the property and if ever we travel just as a family of no more than 6 of us, we would choose to stay in the Cottage, so everyone has their own individual preference. I'm so glad you loved the grounds and pool and the Cottage's own outdoor private terrace. You don't need to have the upgraded Premium Package in order for us to provide you with starter toilet rolls - we provide those as a courtesy to all of our guests, unlike many self-catering options. Our Premium Package includes all bed linens, towels, toiletries, dressing gowns for the adults and a champagne welcome pack - the welcome pack is a gift from us, not a contractually obligated set of pre-determined items. We provide salt and pepper to all guests irrespective of the package they choose. We are currently considering phasing out the "Economy Package" because we would like to provide the extra luxuries to all of our guests. Whilst it's fundamentally a self-catering holiday rental, we do like our guests to feel a little pampered and we find these little extra help that. Thank you for the opportunity to address these issues. We hope to continue to provide wonderful holidays to lovely appreciative guests!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Angela (the owner) a message.

If Angela (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
