The house is situated in a beautiful hilltop town of Grožnjan, well known as a town of arts galleries and musical evenings. It was built in 1406 and recently has been restored with special love and care of our family. But it remains a 1st class monument called "old Hammersmith house".
Grožnjan is well known all over the world for its charm, for the jazz festival and more then 40 art galleries, musical and arts events. All around there is greenery, woods rich of local fruit and products like truffles, asparagus, olive grooves, grapes....This is the place where you can really have a rich and calm holiday getting to know Istria, its culture, enogastronomy, unspoiled nature and visit lot of events that this region organizes and offers to you and make your stay unforgettable.
You can enjoy the evenings in music, smells and tastes which are coming together into a distinct atmosphere on the house terrace with a barbecue or outside in some Grožnjan restaurants, cafes, vineries,...
The Adriatic coast is 20min away with the beaches and picturesque coastal towns of Umag, Porec, Rovinj, Novigrad, 45 min away is Pula and Brijuni islands national natural park. You can even get to Porec on a mountain bike trail that runs just under the estate. The trail used to be an old rail road... and the original stone tunnels and bridges are still preserved. From Porec you can make a boat trip to Venice. Just over the border a 30min car drive is the city of Trieste.
Towns to visit: the hilltop towns of Central Istria Motovun, Oprtalj, Završje, Buzet, the old coastal towns Novigrad, Umag, Pore?, Rovinj, Pula the Brijuni islands national natural park, the beautiful caves of Postojna and the Lipizzaner horses in Lipica.

Wineries: Žigante, Deškovi?, Kabola, Kozlovi?,.. Excellent wines are produced there and well marked wine routes lead you through the charming countryside to sample some of them.
Cycling: the trail used to be an old railroad called Parenzana and the original stone tunnels and bridges are still preserved.
