East Calvert House is a beautifully renovated, roomy holiday home, sleeping up to 6 people in three bedrooms. South-facing, the king and twin bedrooms have terrific views overlooking Swaledale, as have the dining and living rooms.
The cottage is warm and cosy, with central heating, smart TV, and an open fire in the living room, coal included. From 2021, week bookings will run from Friday to Friday.
The well-equipped kitchen is off the spacious dining room, and there is a separate utility room, with full size freezer and washing machine. Also a downstairs cloakroom (drainage to septic tank, but mains water).
Upstairs, the master bedroom, with its lovely views, is extremely spacious, and there are also twin and dble bedrooms. The family bathroom has WC, basin and bath with metal shower attachment, and there is a separate shower room (large shower enclosure).
The cottage is the middle house of a terrace of three, but the cottage on one side is rarely visited, and other cottage is visited on some weekends by its owners, so East Calvert House visitors are unlikely to notice neighbours. It is located about two miles out of Gunnerside, on a dead end road towards Muker (obviously not the main road) and is a 5 minute drive to either Gunnerside or Muker. There is also a footpath through the fields to Muker, over the River Swale, very picturesque, about half an hour, where Swaledale Woollens, Muker Tearoom and Village Shop, Muker Craft Shop and Gallery, and the Farmer's Arms are to be found.
Dogs welcome (under control near sheep), sleeps 6, free wifi. Sorry, no smoking. Note, personal towels are NOT INCLUDED, sorry. From 2021, East Calvert House week bookings will be Friday to Friday.
