Donameer Farm has changed its name and has new owners! Mountain Rose Farm is a private horse farm in the Finger Lakes region now owned by two country-born-and-raised sisters. Located on 92 scenic park-like acres, our farm invites you to take a step back and enjoy our trails through the meadows and woods or relax by our secluded pond.

The Space
Mountain Rose Farm’s Guest Cottage is perfect for two on a peaceful getaway but if you are looking to vacation with friends/family, our Loft Studio beside the cottage is also available for rent (subject to availability) and sleeps two as well.
We are located on top of Mount Washington in a peaceful valley down a quiet country road. The cottage is set back from the road to give you a quiet and private stay bordered by a bubbling stream. Even though the farm feels like it is remote and far off the beaten path, we are only minutes away from many wineries and Keuka Lake. We offer comfortable accommodations in our fully furnished Guest Cottage, including a kitchen with a glass stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee maker, cookware, dining set, various spices, etc. Cottage is furnished with a four-poster bed handcrafted from beams out of an old tobacco barn, dining table and chairs, couch, flat-screen TV with Roku, and dresser. A washer and dryer are available for your use located in the bottom of the building (Guest Loft Studio) right beside the cottage. Outdoor space includes a front porch with seating, a stone patio with umbrella table, propane grill, fire pit, and lounge chairs. There is plenty of firewood for an evening campfire and marshmallows! Enjoy the view from the porch and you may even catch sight of the deer, hawks, wild turkey, and occasional fox who call Mountain Rose their home too.
Nearby Sights and Attractions
Our farm is just a short drive from many interesting sites, antique shops, wineries, distilleries, sparkling lakes, and rolling farms. Corning Museum of Glass, Watkins Glen, Glenn H. Curtiss Aviation Museum, and the Windmill Farm and Craft Market are just some of the area's highlights. We are a scenic 17 miles from Watkins Glen if you want to take in any racetrack action or visit the State Park for a gorge hike. The village of Hammondsport is just an 8-min drive from the farm for shopping, restaurants, groceries, and access to Keuka Lake. There you can sample many restaurants and shop for clothing, art, antiques, and local souvenirs. During the summer season enjoy the various events held in the village square or walk along the waterfront.
Horseback Riding and Accommodation
In addition to vacation accommodation, we offer horseback trail rides (for ages 8+) around our property if you wish to add this experience to your stay **Not available until August 2022**. Trail rides are in addition to your stay and reservations must be made by calling us for a time slot. More details and contact info to book a trail ride can be found on our Facebook or Instagram pages. We also welcome the larger outdoor pets and guests are encouraged to bring their own horses for a stay! For the horse owner looking for a new place to ride with their own horse, we provide pastures, open-air stalls, and great trails for your use on our property and state forest land nearby. Horse accommodation requires a current negative Coggins. A 12x12 stall with bedding and stud-style, personal paddock turnout is available for $30/horse/night, and you are responsible for your stall(s) cleanup. Pasture paddock only is $25/horse/day.
Other things to note
You are welcome to the limited supply of disposable paper goods, shampoos, soaps, dishwashing detergent, firewood, spices, cooking oil, etc. Once you have run out, it is your responsibility to replace them accordingly.
Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 11am. Check-out times must be prompt unless you have arranged otherwise with us prior.
*All linens are included and we offer WIFI and Roku for your streaming pleasure.
*Please do not allow the farm's pets/animals inside the guest cottage, including Lucas our goat;)
*No parties allowed at any time.
*Smoking is prohibited except in outdoor areas.
*Guests must comply with maximum occupancy.
