Maison Cyriax is said to be a souvenir of my grandparents Else and Helmuth Cyriax, who have spent their lives in this house. The house is in Harzgerode - right in the center. We have with great attention to detail renovated the apartment on the upper floor and are now looking forward to nice guests. Maison Cyriax is located in a 200-year-old house, which is now also a listed building. The apartment upstairs was completely renovated for renting as a holiday apartment. When setting up the apartment, we have placed great emphasis on the fact that our guests are missing nothing. We assumed what we would like to find when renting this apartment. Especially the kitchen is very well equipped. There you will find all the kitchen utensils from the microwave to the blender and blender start to the syringe cutter. And of course, there is no lack of the basic equipment of the cooking accessories such as salt & pepper, oil & vinegar, tea & coffee etc. The car can be parked in the yard. There is also the possibility to park for free on the street in front of the house. Maison Cyriax is located in the center of Harzgerode. Harzgerode is a small town in the Lower Harz, which was recognized by the state as a health resort in 1998. Harzgerode is an excellent starting point for day trips to the highlights that the Harz offers. In addition, there is not far from the Maison Cyriax the train station for the Selketalbahn, with which you can even drive to Quedlinburg. The Selketalbahn is a historic steam train. The drive to Quedlinburg takes about 1.5 hours and leads through the beautiful mountain landscape that the Harz has to offer. The Harz is primarily a haven for hikers. Here are numerous hiking trails that criss-cross the beautiful forest and meadow landscape of the Harz mountains. One of the most popular hiking destinations is the Brocken, which can only be accessed again since the opening of the border in 1998. At the time of the Cold War, the area was around the Brocken spear zone. On the Brocken itself was a listening station of the FRG built. Those who are not so good on foot, can take a ride on the Brockenbahn instead of a hike to get to the top. For city trips are especially recommended Quedlinburg and Wernigerode. Quedlinburg, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is a 30-minute drive away. There you can drive through the old town, which houses about 2,000 half-timbered houses from eight centuries. Particularly noteworthy is the market square with the Renaissance Town Hall. Wernigerode - also referred to as a colorful city on the Harz - offers countless half-timbered houses and a beautiful marketplace, as well as a neo-Gothic castle, which towers prominently over the city. Only half an hour's drive from Harzgerode lies Thale. Thale is one of the places in the Harz that offer the most tourist attractions. From Thale you can take the cable car (or car) to the Hexentanzplatz, where you will find an animal park, a mountain theater (also with children's pieces) and an all-weather toboggan run. Stolberg is a 20-minute drive from Harzgerode. In addition to the pretty appearance of this place (many half-timbered houses in the Renaissance style), there are the largest German karst cave "Heimkehle" as well as the water park "Thyragrotte", which is very popular with both young and old. Western fans get their money's worth in Pullman City in Hasselfelde (30 minutes' drive).

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Jessica (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
