From the owner

Fuzzy Duck Cottage is a pretty traditional cottage, approximately 115 years old, situated in the centre of the thriving village of Heacham. Whilst the cottage sleeps up to 6 people, we can offer a small discount for couples only using one bedroom. Please ask for details. Within close walking distance of all the village amenities and a 15 minute walk to the beach, the cottage provides an ideal base for a holiday in North Norfolk. The accommodation has been carefully refurbished to a very high standard throughout. Real fire ideal for cosy nights in. Both TVs include DVD players, plus a Wii games console. A selection of videos are also available, plus a number of board games. Large enclosed rear garden with BBQ & nicely appointed Summer House. The cottage is always spotlessly clean & a generous welcome pack greets all guests. We also have a travel cot & high chair. We have stair gates at both the top & bottom of the open staircase. There are 3 bikes in the garden shed - whilst these are not part of the cottage rental - you are very welcome to use them, but you so at your own risk.

Walking distance from 3 pubs that all serve good food, 2 traditional butchers, one off licence & Fish and Chip Shop. For lovers of continental food, the village also offers an Indian & Chinese Restaurant. Heacham also offers a Tesco Express & small Co-op store for your everyday essentials. Hunstanton (5 min drive) has "full-blown" Tesco/Sainsburys.

For golfers there's a number of fine golf courses within close proximity, including Heacham Manor.

For those that love wild life, its not unusual to see seals swimming from the beach, with seal trips also available in nearby Blakeney. Heacham is also ideally suited for bird watching being only a short distance from a number of brilliant nature reserves (Titchwell/Snettisham). There are 3 sets of binoculars in cottage.

For those with younger children/teenagers there's the funfair at Hunstanton.

We are happy to discuss small discounts for couples only wishing to use one bedroom in the off peak seasons. Generally our change over days are Saturday to Saturday - but during less busy periods we are happy to discuss other days. Also out of season we are more than happy to accommodate midweek breaks. Please ask.

PARKING:

We often get asked about this, parking is on the road outside the cottage, as its a very quiet road this is never an issue and if you can't get directly outside the front door, there's always ample spaces to the left of the cottage. As you will see from our reviews parking is not an issue. Hope this helps.

Interaction with guest

Usually the keys will be left in a keysafe outside the cottage. However, our neighbour also has a spare set and is also available should you have any maintenance concerns. He also tends the garden & will put the bins out for you. We are also contactable 24/7 on our mobiles. On a Saturday change over, the cottage is usually ready by 2.00pm, although officially its yours from 4.00pm. We always text to advise what time we should be finished. If we don't have guests in before your stay, you can usually arrive as early as you like. Departure on your last day is 10.00am.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send David (the owner) a message.

If David (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
