We are only 15 minutes from Hermann, Mo the Midwest's premier wine region. Our local wineries, meaderies and distilleries are award winning and always welcoming. The German heritage is celebrated with local festivals all season, starting in May and continuing through to Ocktoberfest.

Our fully restored 1800s original farm's homestead is decorated in an authentic & rural Swedish style. Warm colors and rustic antiques create a homey and comfortable space. It is cheerful in the summer months and cozy for those midwinter getaways. We won Houzz's 2016 International Interior Design Award.

We have plenty of little eateries and stores out here in the countryside for you to explore, as well as scenic drives and many small town festivals that are off the beaten track. This is an unspoiled farming community with a rich cultural heritage.

The cottage is located on a working pastured waterfowl and poultry farm, nestled in the bottom of a lush green valley.

The kitchen is stocked with a continental breakfast of coffee/tea/OJ and bakery.

Otherwise a " Local Breakfast Basket" can be purchased which includes enough of the following for 2 breakfasts for 2 guests: smokehouse bacon, our eggs, bakery, OJ, English Muffins, butter, coffee & teas, home made jams and jellies.

All cooking and kitchen utensils are stocked in the cabinets for your use.

Prior to arrival, please stay in contact & let me now your aprox time of arrival, as I have to unlock the farm gate and schedule meeting up with you. When you arrive I will show you around the cottage and give you keys to the entry gate so you can come and go as you please. If you need any info about the area, what to do and see, Id be more than happy to give you suggestions. The cottage is a Whole House rental, I live in the barn about 100 ft away. So you have total privacy and quiet.

It was lovely having you at the farm. Come back soon. As for winter, I wouldnt be too concerned about the highways being an issue out here. I still have to get to and from town for groceries and supplies after all and Hermann is just 15 minutes away. Winter is actually a great time to be here for the peacefulness of snowy days and silent nights. The smell of woodsmoke is in the air. With just the owls and coyotes calling in the evenings and crystal clear nights for stargazing. It might by my favorite time of year for those reasons alone. All that plus off season rates!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Connie (the owner) a message.

If Connie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
