Edwards cottage description

This comfortable, rustic, family Adirondack cottage offers spectacular views of one of NY State's most scenic lakes - Trout Lake. Great fishing, canoeing, rowing, and swimming. It is very affordable and all the basics are included. Property sits on a 3/4 acre of land and includes the house, barn and a boathouse with large dock and ladder allowing for easy lake access for swimming, boating, and sunbathing. Fabulous deck overlooks the lake. Small dock to the left of the boat house is where the canoe and paddle boat can be found.

Baseboard heating keeps the house nice and toasty on chilly days. Cozy, screened-in porch is great for meals looking out at the lake. The lake is calm for fishing and cruising. We provide a row boat with a small motor, a paddle boat and a canoe. One third of the lake is State land and forever wild, which is great for hiking and exploring.

Come experience the solace and peace of this lake. Guests have said, ''we have never felt more relaxed and rejuvenated from a vacation before!' 'The lake is extremely clean and the fishing is awesome! Love the views from the deck overlooking the lake!' 'Can't wait to come back next year! This is going to be an annual event for our family!'

'So many spots at this beautiful location where you can sit and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the lake and it's surroundings. A beautiful deck overlooking the lake with table and chairs. A great spot for evening beverages and snacks and star gazing. The dock that is by the boathouse on the lake is great for sunning and water sports. The row boat (also has a small Mercury motor in case you don't want to row), the canoe and the paddle boat are all available for taking out and exploring on the lake. And for those sun bathers there is a very nice wooden raft you can swim out to and just relax and enjoy the beautiful nature. With over 250 feet of lake front you have all the room in the world ! Straight across the lake is a wonderful sandy beach'.

Please keep in mind that Trout Lake is a beautiful, clean lake. The cottage draws lake water to bathe and cook. Drinking water is available in the refrigerator in a large jug as well as in the cooler next to the kitchen. These can be refilled at the local fire station (they have an outside water hose and allow people to come and fill up water). The water is very good in Edwards. When you arrive the cottage will be open and a key will be available if you choose to lock it. Please note that sheets and towels are not included as there is no washer/dryer on site. If this is a deal breaker for you, please let me know and we will see how to best accommodate you. If an animal has been approved, please keep them off the furniture.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Molly (the owner) a message.

If Molly (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
