From the owner

This home is in the foothills of the beautiful Black Hills, where prairie meets mountains. We built it on a cliff, with a spectacular view. It has log siding, with subtle stone trim, and sits on 7+ acres, overlooking the horse barn and pasture. We are licensed and inspected by the state of South Dakota as a legitimate vacation rental.

The wraparound porch invites quality time in the fresh air of the Hills. A garage is included for your vehicle, whether it's 4 wheeled or 2.

While the mountain air cools the house comfortably, central air conditioning is available for those rare hot days; as well as a furnace, should the temp be just a bit too cool.

Offering 3 bedrooms, this home provides plenty of personal and communal space for up to 6 folks.

The master bedroom (12'x10') with a queen bed is located on the main floor. It is bright and sunny and affords a sneak peak at the morning sunrise, if you're an early riser. It has an ensuite bathroom (also accessible from the kitchen) with a standard tub and shower combination.

The second bedroom (12'x10'), upstairs, also includes a queen bed. It shares a full bathroom with the third bedroom. The bathroom is nestled snuggly between both bedrooms.

The third bedroom is in the loft area. A full-sized bed rests in this room, along with a small sofa.

Please make our home, garage, and 7 acres your home-away-from-home while exploring the beautiful Black Hills. We will greet you upon check-in, and see you off during check-out. We will be available in between.

Hermosa (meaning "beautiful" in Spanish), is a quaint rural town conveniently located 20 min. from the "big" city of Rapid City, and along the foothills of the Black Hills. Our home is about 1 mile from Hermosa, and less than 1/4 mi. from Highway 40 (we have only about 1/8 mi. of gravel).

We built our place on a cliff, overlooking the southwest valley. This one-of-a-kind view includes pasture, hills, our roping arena, and the biggest, bluest sky imaginable.

We also have 2 RV sites with full hookups. They are located across the highway in a peaceful, beautiful setting.

Just a mile from Highway 79, we're conveniently located to many attractions in the Black Hills:

25 minutes to Rapid City Regional Airport

35 minutes to the Buffalo Roundup

Our home is located in a quiet, country setting. We expect our guests to respect this serenity and we prohibit loud music and parties.

Please, only those individuals included in your reservation are allowed in our house. Should you have visitors, please check with us first.

We love children, but our home is only set-up for children 6 and older.

No pets.

Please adhere to our checkin time of 4-6 pm, Mountain Time. If you will arrive outside of that timeframe, be sure to make arrangements with us.

Checkout is 11 am.

Bikers are welcome, but please, no colors.

Our home is smoke-free. Smoking is permitted outside.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Bob (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
