“Disappointing.”

I planned to stay here for 4 nights with my husband and 9 week old baby. We arrived at 1930hr after a 5 hour journey to a damp property which exacerbated my asthma. I felt it was unsafe to stay the remaining 3 nights so I spoke to the owners and explained I was relocating and would like a refund to pay for the next 3 nights in the new location. After a week I received a letter stating they did not feel obliged to refund me and that the property was not damp. I disagreed with this, replied in writing and did not hear back from them. I personally would not stay here again with a baby, and having asthma. Please see review from September 2015 saying the same thing. If you are not vulnerable medically or planning on taking a baby or older adult then this cottage would be ok for a short time frame. Nice location.

In your long letter dated 15/07/2016 you advised that you had a very stressful 5 hr journey; with your 9 week old baby crying most of the time. You had verbally advised our son that you were taking your baby to the doctors, prior to journey. We are sorry you had a stressful time. On arrival you advised there was a smell of damp and that the towels smelt as though they had been washed / dried in a mouldy /damp washing machine / tumble drier. Our cleaner advised that she has a new washing machine and that the items were hung on a line to dry. Or local contact visited the property on the 8th July and advised that there was no smell of damp; evidence of mould or damp spots. This would indicate that the input system ( running 24 /7 ) and exhaust fans, in kitchen and bathroom are working as designed. They were fitted in 2010. Due to the above we did not feel obliged to refund cost of your 3 day stay.

My husband and 12 week old baby and I all had a great stay in 10 Lakeview rise. We enjoyed the local area and the facilities both in the place and on site were really good. Organising and booking was really easy and the owners were really friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay.
