Welcome to "The Highlands Buck House." We have gone to great lengths to ensure an unforgettable stay. We have been vacationing in Highlands for years and finally decided to get our own place with comfortable beds and modern decor! Our home was extensively renovated in 2017 with the help of a nationally known interior designer. The home has 3 bedrooms and 4 full baths. There are 3 living areas as well as a daybed loft.

We are located in the upscale Bowery Road neighborhood which is one of Highlands best kept secrets, just past the Mountain Fresh grocery (less than 2 miles). The neighborhood has a land trust with an extensive trail system with several gorgeous ponds. One of the trail-heads is just behind our property.

Our home sits on two nearly flat acres of hardwoods and hemlocks. We have a gorgeous fire-pit patio with ample Adirondack seating, a picnic table in the woods, and beautiful paths throughout the property. At the very back of our property, deep in the woods, sits a marvelous pond with inviting bridges and a bench nearby to sit and enjoy the scenery. The landscaping is lush and the setting is extremely quiet and private.

The home has three bedrooms and four full bathrooms. On the main level is the Master complete with a custom walnut 4 post King bed (literally made for a King or Queen!) and a flat screen television. There is also a beautiful private full bath finished in silver travertine. The more than one million year old petrified sink will surely be a conversation piece. There is plenty of closet space in the Master and throughout the home. There is an additional full bath on the main level accessible from the living space. Upstairs there are two additional bedrooms. The Queen room has a beautiful reclaimed queen sized bed and a full bathroom with a large shower. The other bedroom contains a bunk bed complete with ship lights and an adorable cubby! The lower bunk is a full sized bed while the upper one is a twin. There is also a pack n' play in the closet if needed. The bunk room also has a private full bath complete with a custom stone wall in the shower. Between the two upstairs bedrooms is a loft space open to the living room. In the loft space there is a day bed with a comfortable twin mattress and a twin trundle underneath. There is also a desk in case you need to work or just write down your thoughts as you unwind in heaven on earth! All of the beds are high quality. The linens are extraordinary.

The living space is extensive. There are essentially three living areas. The primary living room has a gas fireplace and a 65" flat screen tv with Netflix streaming. Then there is a connected Den. This room is more of a reading room, but also incredibly comfortable and inviting. There are plenty of movies and books to chose from while you relax and take in the view through the wall of windows. Finally, there is an equally wonderful screened porch with ample seating and plenty of light. This room brings the outside in and connects the main home to the deck where you'll find a stainless steel gas grill, another patio table, and plenty of seating for an outdoor gathering.

The kitchen is large and contains essentially anything and everything to prepare meals during your stay. All of the cookware is high quality and there is a large pantry to store any food. There is also a large laundry room in the rear of the home featuring a brand new high quality washer and dryer, along with an iron and ironing board. The house is stocked with toiletries, paper products, detergent, spices, coffee and tea and more.

The front porch is large and has several places to sit and take in the beauty of the landscape, including a cozy porch swing. There is ample parking both on the driveway and in the included 2 car garage.

The Highlands Buck House is loaded with character. All of the art is custom and unique. The floors, furniture and accents have been selected with an eye toward the indigenous Highlands reclaimed look. In a nutshell the home is absolutely perfect. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

How do damage deposits work?

If Leslie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
