We welcome a well behaved pet visitor once we have agreement to our pet contract.

Then this 3000 sq ft home in a luxurious and beautiful gated community is where you need to be, sitting on a spacious half acre lot amidst palms, bountiful azaleas and towering Carolina pines overlooking a scenic lagoon, and with easy proximity to the PRIVATE BEACH, POOLS including the fun Lazy River where the current carries you along, and 4 GOLF courses inside the neighborhood either so those who golf can be dropped off in the morning and others can keep the car for their activities.

At the house, there is ample space for different activities for different people - cooking, reading, sunning, biking, watching movies, bird watching, listening to music - you may find you explore the area less because of this home's well designed comforts, elegance, and serenity.

Here escape the traffic, crowds, and noise that so often accompany beach destinations. Instead bike on one of the 6 bikes (1 child's) we've left for you, or walk on level pathways through forests past manicured golf courses, and fountains, or drive or bike within the plantation to the quietest beach on the island that the public cannot access. Bring the beach chairs we provide, your happy hour drinks for sunset, wiggle your toes in the sand, and breathe in the fresh sea air. Later sample some of the locals' favorite waterfront restaurants close by. (We have left our suggestions for you). No neon signs, no casinos, no motorcycles, no bright night lights, but instead a respect for natural beauty, peacefulness, and recreation.

Of course, outside the plantation is a vast array of other seaside experiences - dolphin watching, golfing, (discount golf information is at the house), imaginative mini-putt, salt marsh kayaking , zip lining, outlet mall shopping, museums, beach biking, or beach tanning/reading, Tuesday free fireworks nights, tennis, water sports, boating - not to mention side trips to historic Charleston, 2 1/2 hours away and Savannah, 45 minutes distance or take the nearby day tripper boat return trip.

Hilton Head is renowned for tremendous restaurant quality, and value: there are so many competitors, you are ensured what you want is available at a reasonable price. Naturally, some nights you will enjoy dinner at home cooked in the fully equipped kitchen, and served outside on the patio, or in the formal dining room for a special meal shared with friends.

Andreas from rural NY along with 3 teenagers and wife was belligerent and bullying from the outset of his 3.5 hrs early arrival. I had emailed him details including check in began at 4 unless I contacted them earlier, and yet, he and his family at 12:20 pm when other guests had left at 11 am, saw the cleaner's car parked in the driveway, but still used their door lock code I had given them and w/o even knocking or ringing the bell, entered very much startling the cleaner who always locks the door. She said they could leave their luggage but they needed to come back at 4 or she would call them if earlier. He laughed and ignored her saying they were tired from driving all night, his wife left to grocery shop and the rest of them stayed knowingly unwanted. The cleaner phoned me very insulted and angry at 3 nasty people being underfoot as she proceeded trying to ready the house with them in her way as well as not feeling safe with such rudeness. I phoned him to clarify that they needed to organize for a few hours to go to the beach or a meal, and to observe the instructions he was sent about a 4 pm arrival. He wouldn't budge and instead complained that My Job was to be welcoming to guests and not dictatorial which I hadn[t done - YET. We all know the Type. Once they pay, they think there are No Rules to observe. And he didn't the entire week. I warned hmi that his attitude towards the cleaner and me was arrogant and needed to change if the week was going to go smoothly. He laughed.again. And he also phoned midweek to say the internet had stopped working. This occurred beacuse he had knocked over the internet modem on a den shelf where not only do we have a request to maintain that in an upright position to function, but we also placed a picture there to indicate exactly what was needed for internet to function. Instead of him recognizing his carelessness, he said as he did in his review, there were too many signs to read in the house. But reading them would have prevented you from not having lost internet and calling me to be told to read them I replied which infuriated him. Good. I also mentioned tthat notes on the banks of pot light switches were to enable a person to turn on the light they needed rather than be frustrated flipping through them. But of course he refused to admit common sense was a better approach. The next problem occurred when our cleaner called me after they had left to say 4 out of 5 doors to the house had All been left Unlocked with one actually half open visibly to those passing by, the rattan kitchen set had damage on two cross supports and the porch sofa was missing one of its 6 upholstered sofa cushions which matched all the upholstery in that room. When I phoned him en route driving to ask where the cushion was - more guests were arriving that afternoon and it would be needed by them - he sarcastically said their vehicle with 5 of them in it was too crowded to have stolen any of our things. Once I said I was retaining his security deposit, he suddenly remembered having moved this cushion to a chair outside - really/ - which was only revealed since he didn't want a consequence to him of losing money not because he cared if anyone was harmed by anything he had done. Imagine how these teenagers are being shaped by such ignorant, anti social parental behaviour. When I said he had not followed our contract by having left unocked our house when they left, he said because we lived in a gated community, there was no need for that. 4200 homes are in this neighborhood, 10,000 people, 4 golf courses with hundreds of outsiders daily in the neighborhood and this was how reckless, unthinking, and abusive he was. We have mostly pleasant appreciative guests, but one so ill mannered as he with a passive wife and kids not straightening him out made them all a risk. He warned me he would leave a bad review since I wasn't the timid doormat he counted on. His comments about the house are humerous when you read them while looking at the pictures which speak the truth. Amusingly when I checked his surname for country of origin to try to understand his absence of decency, the original name meaning was of a person with bubonic plague or spreading pestilence. I laughed and saw I had escaped more easily than I had realized! Colleen aka Jekyll/Hyde.

Oh dear, this grandmother booked w/o having paid attention that we are a 5 minute car ride, or 11 minute bike ride - on our 6 bikes - from the private neighborhood beach. And two blocks from our small neighborhood's lovely, underused pool, in addition to the Lazy River and splash pad. Our website clearly describes the 3rd bdrm as having a queen sofa bed, but she missed this detail also as if it had been withheld when she just didn't pay attention. My phone call to her to request her two dogs stop barking constantly annoyed her I guess because she was enjoying the house when I first made contact. The den tv is 37 inches and the house pictures pretty clearly indicate the quality and comfort of the furnishings which is why the house is so busy and with many excellent reviews on the first major rental website.. The house is in the favorite neighborhood of those who have chosen to live year round on the island due to its location to the best stores, restaurants and activities w/o becoming traffic trapped in summer at the South end of the island at Sea Pines or harbor Town. Come, you'll love it too!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Colleen/Don (the owner) a message.

If Colleen/Don (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
