Our lovely, modern apartment occupies a prime position in a traditional Austrian building, located at the entrance to the beautiful & unspoilt village of Hinterthal. Providing an ideal base for both Summer & Winter holidays, it has fantastic dual aspect views of the Hochmais slope, the main ski run to & from the village and also to the Hochkonig (High King) mountain range. The six-man heated/covered chair, the main lift of the village, is barely 100 metres walk from the apartment, so great in the mornings & after a long day on the slopes! No queuing for the ski bus or need to get in a car - the skiing is literally on your doorstep!

Over 50 million Euros have recently been invested in the new local lift system making it one of Austria's up & coming ski regions. There is over 120 km of varied skiing to suit all abilities with breathtaking scenery. In the Summer/Autumn season the area is a walker/biker/hiker's paradise.

The apartment has three good size bedrooms. The first has a large, typically Austrian-style, double bed, consisting of two single mattresses, plenty of storage & a spectacular view. The second has a double bed and the third contains two single beds. All rooms are spacious with ample storage space.

The open plan living area encompasses a high spec kitchen (newly fitted in 2012). The dining area (seats 6 people) and comfortable lounge with doors out onto the balcony make the most of the wonderful views. The modern facilities like wide screen smart TV and WIFI add to the new modern feel of the accommodation. The bathroom has a bath with powerful shower over & there is a separate separate WC & large wash basin.

Ski storage and a separate boot drying room are situated in the basement along with table tennis for guest use. There is also access to a sauna in an adjacent building available for a small fee (2 mins walk from the apartment). The village has plenty of superb restaurants and bars & prices both on the mountain & in the village are very reasonable. There is an ATM at the bank directly opposite the apartment. Local Hotels offer full spa & treatment facilities to non-residents should you wish to pamper yourself and all the main supermarkets & shops can be found in nearby Maria Alm (6 kilometres) or Saalfelden (9 kilometres).

We reside in the UK so are not actually in Austria during your stay. However, we have a great local person in Claudia who lives just opposite our apartment who deals with key handover, cleaning, etc. Also, we regularly monitor e-mails for any major issues that might occur during your stay.

Fantastic place for a summer holiday, not just for skiing..

Lovely, well appointed apartment. A real home from home. Beautiful area for a summer holiday. Lots to do for children who are active. Would definitely come back to this apartment and this area.

Wir kommen immer wieder gerne nach Hinterthal. Die Wohnung hat eine ausgezeichnete Lage. Wir fühlen uns sehr wohl in der Wohnung. Alles da was man braucht, sehr sauber und gemütlich.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send David (the owner) a message.

If David (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
