This large, luxury chalet stands at the edge of a private lake in the middle of the beautiful Austrian village of Hinterthal, close to Maria Alm and within an hour's drive of Salzburg.

Situated at the foot of the majestic Hochkoenig mountain, Hinterthal is at the centre of a region renowned for excellent skiing in the Winter and beautiful walking in the Summer.

The chalet sleeps up to 14 and is ideal for families, groups or romantic couples who want the charm of Austria and the sophistication of spacious and luxurious accommodation.

Ideally situated right next to the nursery slopes, with access to 150km of varied pistes, the house has been built to the highest standards of luxury, combining traditional craft with modern luxury: underfloor heating, included wifi, high-end audio system, family sauna plus all the alpine charm of open log fires, oak floors, natural stone and even a grand piano.

Following extension in 2018 there are 5 double/twin bedrooms and 1 bedroom with 4 bunk-beds, 5 bathrooms, 2 main living rooms, 2 dining areas and a separate study/library. The two main floors have large open-plan living rooms on both levels, 2 separate dining areas (or 1 for dining and the other for games), a quiet library/study looking onto the highest mountains in the valley, a family sauna and technical/laundry room. Overall, following the extension, there is over 400m² of internal living space. The house can accommodate large groups but affords privacy to both parents and their children!

Furnishings also combine traditional antiques with modern features: warm rugs and deep sofas, heating controls and internet access in each room.

Outside there is a deep balcony accessed from the upper floor living room with a dining table and chairs and views across the lake to the main ski area. On the ground floor level there is a terrace and a wooden deck built over the lake which is private to the houses built around it. In the winter a hot tub is available for guest use.

The house is rented inclusive of bedlinen, towels and cleaning; tourist tax is payable locally.

How do damage deposits work?
