Set in peaceful nature with beautiful views & plenty of wildlife, the eco friendly (solar-powered) cottage is a well appointed & very comfortable base to explore southern Tasmania.

Located on the premier Coal River Valley Food & Wine Trail, it’s only 10 minutes from the airport, & 15 minutes easy drive to Hobart CBD.

The quaint village of Richmond is 12 minutes away.

In summer time, along Richmond road in front of the cottage, there are roadside stalls selling seasonal cherries, apricots, figs grown by the farmers.

Enjoy the fresh country air, & beautiful expansive views of farmland & water.

Relax with a glass of Tasmanian pinot noir or local whisky at the end of the day. There are many vinyards/wineries, two whisky distilleries, & restaurants just minutes away.

A complimentary breakfast basket for your first morning is included in your stay.

The cottage has two very spacious & sunny bedrooms with large windows.

The master bedroom has a comfortable, premium queen bed, & a sitting area with a leather sofa facing large windows. A glass sliding door opens up to a large deck.

The second bedroom has two comfortable, premium single beds, bedside tables, & reading lamps. It also has a cozy sitting area.

From both bedrooms, you'll wake up to lovely views.

The deck is equipped with a Weber BBQ where you can watch the wild life, have your breakfast, or just sit to enjoy the views.

We live right next door with our super friendly Smithfield dog Max who is the official welcoming committee 😊

Beautiful farm view! You can see the sunrise sunset everyday! Lani is very friendly and helpful! Great stay, 100% going back for next visit. Last but not least, you’ll love Max when you arrived.

Thank you for your review, Matt. Re: the hot water pressure: as we're mindful of the environment we live in (that's why we're off the grid, use rain water, & require a minimum 2 night- stay to lessen the laundry load) we decided not to use large shower head or high pressure shower head to conserve the rain water that we collect. Thanks to your feedback, we'll point this out in our listing so future guests know what to expect. Thanks again for staying with us.

Why can't I call Lani (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Lani (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Lani (the owner) a message.

If Lani (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
