It's surrounded by rolling green hills, made famous in the comedy series The Last of the Summer Wine, open countryside, overlooking the river Holme, which can be heard babbling by, and the mill pond - a haven to birds and wildlife.
Located at the foot of Holme Moss, the Cote De Holme Moss Grand Depart of the Tour De france 2014 is only metres from your door. There's a fishing spot only a 2 minute walk away and with numerous reservoirs, woodland, moorland and riverside walks, this cottage has all you need for a Yorkshire countryside break!
Not only that, all your needs are at your doorstep with 2 pubs, one with it's own restaurant, a village store, tea room and Holmfirth vineyard which offers vineyard tours and serves breakfast, English wines, afternoon teas and an la carte menu, all within a 5 minute walk and, as it's such perfect dog walking country, most of the local pubs, cafe's and restaurants welcome your furry friends too.
There is a small, secluded, stone flagged area to the front of the cottage with seating for 2 where you can enjoy a morning coffee or a glass of wine (or 3!) in the evening and there's a selection of DVD's and board games if you prefer a quiet night in and some xbox games to keep the kids happy. There is also a picnic basket, picnic blanket and ice packs available for you to dine out 'al fresco' in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
The close proximity to Holmfirth town centre and it's transport links makes this an ideal base for guests wishing to visit events at the Picturedrome, The Holmfirth Festival of Folk, Holmfirth Food Festival, The Art Festival, Film Festival and other local events.

• We do not charge a cleaning fee. We clean and prepare the cottage for your stay ourselves to enable us to keep the cost to you as low as we possibly can. Don't worry, we don't expect a full spring clean on check out, but if this isn't something that suits you then accommodation with a full cleaning service may be more suitable.
