Description from owner

The house is our family holiday home and is situated in 'Parc des Impressionnistes', a small landscaped and gated development completed in 2006, which blends perfectly with the surrounding buildings of Honfleur and has the added advantage of a secure parking space. The lounge and both bedrooms have stunning views of the Seine estuary with the iconic Pont de Normandie in the distance. Immediately below is the historic lighthouse 'Le Phare de l' Hospice' which was painted by many of the Impressionists including Monet, Seurat & Boudin.

We are within easy walking distance of all that Honfleur has to offer, just 5 minutes from the old harbour or 'Vieux Bassin', down the cobbled 'Rue de L'Homme de Bois'. Despite its proximity to the town it is beautifully quiet and enjoys its own small front garden, a perfect suntrap from late morning to sunset.

Further details

The rental price includes bed linen and towels (beds are made on your arrival). We expect our guests to leave the property clean and tidy. If excessive cleaning is required by our property managers, a percentage of the holiday deposit money will be retained though fortunately we have never had to do that. We don't have gates for the stairs and so unfortunately can't recommend the house for children under 6 years of age.

Further details indoors

Bright, open plan living room with extensive views. Beautiful and well equipped modern fitted kitchen. Dining seating for 4 but will seat 6, extra chairs provided. Two double bedrooms with fitted wardrobes. Bathroom on first floor with shower over bath and two separate toilets, one on each floor. Washing machine, spin dryer, ironing board and drying area in a downstairs laundry room.

Further details outdoors

The property has a small, sunny garden so please make use of our outdoor furniture. There is a secure allocated parking space within the development (see picture). No drying of laundry is permitted outside.

Getting around

Of course you have the secure parking space for your car on the development but the house is only a short walk from the town centre down the cobbled street. Close to the town centre the bus station has routes in all directions and we enjoy taking the bus to Le Havre, Deauville and Trouville or Pont Audemer when we don't feel like driving.

Interaction with guest

You will collect the keys from a conveniently situated key safe and the house will be ready for your stay with all beds made. We have managers in France for any on-site problems and you also have Sally's mobile number.

Very Good

“Perfect house in great location”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2017

This house has everything you would need for a short or long stay, perfectly equipped, clean and tidy. Garden is lovely and a real sun trap. Parking space was definitely a bonus. Within easy reach of everything, we walked on the beach, shopped in the centre which is just a few minutes walk away and had lovely meals and drinks too. Had a market on Saturday and live music in the evening in a local bar. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We hope to return next year. Thank you.

“Great location, home from home!”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2017

We stayed for a week in the townhouse over the Easter holidays. Very much as all the other reviews on here; excellent location, quiet yet within easy walking distance to the centre of Honfleur. The house has all the amenities of a home rather than a holiday let, with great views over the estuary. Pretty much faultless. We used the house as a base to explore Normandy; Bayeux, Rouen, D-Day beaches and so much more within easy driving distance. The excellent location allows you to wander around the lovely port of Honfleur once all the crowds have dispersed. We would thoroughly recommend it for a Normandy stay.

“Perfect location”

House was perfectly located and had everything we could possibly need. Sally has thought of everything and made our stay 5*. Driving through town an experience but once parked in the secure parking good restaurants and bars in walking distance of the house. The perfect base to explore this area of france from.

My wife, her adult daughter, and I spent a week here. It was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately the weather wasn't. But we still had a wonderful visit. After arriving in Paris on an early morning flight from the states, we picked up a rental car and headed to Honfleur. We arrived late morning and found Sue still cleaning. We were able to park our car in the unit's secure parking space with all our belongings, and immediately headed into town, to explore while Sue finished. She explained about the hot water problem, which was easily remedied by checking the circuit braker and re-setting it if it had switched off. We had absolutely no problem having as much hot water as we needed. Nor was the lack of wi-fi a problem for us, since Judy's daughter had a Smart phone, and could connect with it. Besids, our idea of a vacation is to get away from all that. The house, layout worked perfectly for us, and the location couldn't have been better - far enogh away from the town center to be quiet, but close enough to walk to every morning to pick up a fresh bagette, sit by the harbor for a coffee and pastry breakfast. We used the house as a base for day trips to Ruen, Etretat, and Deauville. The house was equipped nicely for cooking, although we only cooked two dinners. We recommend trying L'homme d'Bois but pass on Ill Parasole. Why eat mediocre/poor Italian food when in France?
