My home is a spacious townhouse on Houston's SW side. My home doubles as an art gallery. In fact, mine is one of the finest private collections in all of Houston. The diverse, and international flavor of the collection has taken many years to assemble. The rooms are spacious, and beds are comfy for a long snooze. The Art Abbey is the art lover's bed and breakfast of choice. The guest rooms are on the second floor, and your host resides on the first floor.

The community is a diverse, working class community with a huge variety of eateries and cultural sites nearby. For visitors to Houston, the Abbey is near to Chinatown, Fort Bend County, The Galleria, NRG Stadium, the Texas Medical Center, the Energy corridor, and the Museum District. I would LOVE to be your host!!

This woman is a complete liar!! She made a reservation, and I accepted her reservation. I had to decline other visitors in order to hold that reservation. 1. She and I discussed at length the distance from the energy corridor. Indeed, The Abbey is LESS than 5 miles from the southern end of that area. I know this very well as I work at a hotel in that area. 2. The Abbey IS a completely secured property. This seemed critical to her as her husband's vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of the hotel that he had been staying in. No vehicle COULD EVER be damaged, or stolen from the Abbey's secured parking area. The Art Abbey contains galleries of costly art and artifacts. A very sophisticated security arrangement is employed to keep everything and everyone safe. I have hosted hundreds of guests at the Abbey, and I have NEVER experienced a security breach. As for the larger community-- Houston is an urban area with urban issues. If she were so afraid of this, what is she doing in this Town at all? Remember, her husband's vehicle was stolen from ANOTHER location far away from this community. 3. Her husband requested to tour the Abbey BEFORE check-in. I made arrangements to give him a tour, but he then NO CALLED/NO SHOWED. These people are out-of-their minds!! They broke a contract for NO good reason, tied -up my property for 3 days, and now are lying about the details in order to receive a refund that they totally DO NOT deserve. I pray that I never have dealings with people like this again!!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send John (the owner) a message.

If John (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
