The England region

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

West Country

Ilfracombe is a bustling town with two beaches, situated on the North Devon coastline, a short drive from Exmoor National Park. Ilfracombe has a harbour, pubs, restaurants and shops, and a day trip from the town to Lundy Island isessential. The villages of Lynton, Lynmouth, Clovelly, and the town of Hartland, plus many walking routes are all close by. Ilfracombe is an ideal at any time of year.

“Welcoming, friendly and homely.”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2013

For anyone wishing to have the sea-side on their doorstep, this is the place to come. The owner was friendly on our arrival and just let us get on with it but on hand to tell us where everything was. The two floors (first and second) were really cosy and felt homely immediately. We loved the Kitchen; ample room and fully equipped and the fact there was a big table so we could all eat together but enjoy a separate living area to rest our weary feet after our days out. This room was a bit dated when we were there but it was comfortable enough for us all. There is no allocated car parking space and the street is one way; despite this, we never had a problem putting the car somewhere as there are lots of side streets to park close by. There are some fantastic restaurants to choose from and our favourite was the Terrace Tapas and Wine bar towards the end of the high street. Overall a fab stay and I would not hesitate to come to Penryn the next time we come to Ilfracombe.
