Nika House is situated in the middle of the desert, 25 km from Jaisalmer, near a small village of a few hundred inhabitants. The village

name is Chhatrel.

I build here this beautiful camp with authentic eco desert huts. It’s a unique place in busy India, because you can experience real

quietness and peace over here. No city noise, honking of cars and pollution. Just spacious, beautiful and vast land around you with just

a few passing cows, goats and camels. You have to like authenticity, quietness and a basic setting. You’ll have a great view from here

to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Many people like to take their beds out in the evening and place it next to the camp fire to sleep

underneath the stars. Everything is possible at Nika House. We offer you free breakfast and dinner (vegetarian, Rajasthani home

cooked meals). Lunch is on request and consists of rice, dal and/or vegetable curry, chapati and chai (price is 140 rupees per person).

We bring the food to you or we can cook the food together on the fire like is our custom in the desert. Whatever option suits you the

best.

At Nika House rain water is available from the well at our camp. We contribute to the protection of nature and the well-being of the local

population. This is why our place is eco friendly by using natural material and local manufacturing methods. At the moment we don’t

have electricity but we have a big torch for you to use and you can bring a power bank to charge your devices.There is 4G connection

so you can stay in touch with your loved ones. You can also use your stay here as an opportunity to switch off all your devices and

connect with nature and it’s silence.

Nika House has three huts, two shared toilets (squat and Western style), a bucket for showering with rainwater and a big camp fire pit to

use. We have several options for sleeping: (mixed) dormitory style rooms, private (double) and family sized rooms.

In the area we have a lot of nature you can enjoy.

I have many years experience on organising Camel Safari and Jeep Safari. Ask me about this and I can organise your ideal trip.

Anything is possible.

You can make long walks in the beautiful desert surrounding you, visit the village, put on your favourite music and dance under the

stars, make your own camp fire, roll out your Yoga mat and enjoy the peace. Everything is possible here because we give you all the

freedom. No one will disturb you.

Jaisalmer city itself will fascinate you with its magnificent fort which is still inhabited by the Maharaja. Also, the Jain Temples are

beautiful to see. Enjoy discovering this ancient place.

The Gadsisar Sagar Lake is nice to visit and is just outside Jaisalmer city center.

Also, Kuldhara Abandoned Village, located 23 km from Nika House is an interesting place to visit.

The discovery of our beautiful region will not fail to surprise you, I'm sure!

The life here is peaceful, the desert is at hand, you can experience our culture and Rajasthani cuisine and especially our smiles and our patience. Nika House is a great adventure.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Ratan (the owner) a message.

If Ratan (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
