Enjoy breath-taking ocean views, amazing sunsets, and total tranquility in nature on Ecuador's coast. Casita Selva is one of two cabañas at Punta Pacifica guest house, perched atop a 150 ft (50m) high point overlooking the sea. A winding trail through native forest takes you to a private beach -- just a 3 minute walk. Casita Selva has a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with two-person shower and hot water; perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway. Folding glass doors open up to ample deck space to let the outdoors in. There is

limited internet service and no TV -- this place is for disconnecting from the world! (Note: there is cell phone signal). Hang in a hammock in the shade, enjoy amazing sunsets, and take a stroll down the beach at low tide to the "Arco del Amor" natural stone arch. If you are watchful, whales can be observed from the deck during the July-Sept migration season.

Casita Selva has a kitchnette with a 2-burner hotplate, small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker, plus basic dishes and utensils so you can make your own simple meals. There is a full-time caretaker that lives on the property. Parking is available onsite.

A foldaway bed is available for an additional person at a cost of $10/night. Additional guests will have to bring their own sleeping pad/mattress and bedding. MAXIMUM ALLOWED 4 PERSONS PER CASITA. NO PETS OR CHILDREN UNDER 5, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Punta Pacifica is located 25km south of Pedernales, and 15 km north of Jama. There are restaurants, shops, and internet service in the towns. There is a small village, Tasaste, within walking distance by beach or road, for basics. There are hiking trails with wildlife viewing and birdwatching at the Lalo Loor Forest Reserve, 5 km to the north.

Interaction with guest

Before you arrive, plan to call the caretaker, Jacinto Vera, to let him know your estimated arrival time. He will then be able to be at the front gate to unlock it for you when you arrive. Once there, he will give you keys to your casita and, if you have a car, a remote control for the automatic gate. The owners are occasionally there, but live in the main house on the property. Your casita is free standing, and private. You can, of course, come to the caretaker at any reasonable hour if you have a question or problem or need some information.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Catherine (the owner) a message.

If Catherine (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
