L:a Belle Chataigne. The perfect place to be in rural France.

Lagarde lies in a region of France known as La Chataigneraie ( the chestnut grove ) a delightful area of outstanding beauty ; a mixed landscape of mountain ranges, forests, lakes, rivers, rolling countryside and steep gorges in the south-west of the department of the Cantal, not far from the valley of the river lot and the spectacular mountains of the Auvergne.

La Chataigneraie has, in the past been isolated from much of the rest of France by lack of roads and air transport. However with the upgrading of the roads this wonderful countryside can be accessed in a days drive from Britain. Alternatively make an overnight stop for a more leisurely journey. with the introduction of Ryanair, of inexpensive flights from London Stansted to Rodez, short breaks of a few days as well as long summer stays are feasible in just a few hours from home.

The property for rent is an Auvergnat Barn beautifully transformed in to two completely self-contained gites, each with it's own private entrance and parking. Accommodation is for up to 14 persons.

Gite 1 Le Coin Perdu 2 Bedroom & La Belle Chataigne 3 Bedroom.

Both gites can be hired separately. Together they offer a unique arrangement for up to 10 friends or family to enjoy spacious comfort but with independent living space when required. Alongside the property is an 11m x 5.5m swimming pool & games room. perfect for couples
