Description from owner

Description

Our extremely spacious and attractive Villa is situated on the hillside overlooking Kalamar Bay and enjoys stunning sea-views. Three of the bedrooms (two king sized doubles and a twin) are on the ground floor with direct access to the pool terraces. The spacious main living area and kitchen are on the first floor with a large shaded dining terrace with sea views and external steps down to the pool area. The villa is on a plot size of 800sqm. There is No Commission to pay on our prices.

The fourth double bedroom (king sized bed) occupies the whole of the top floor and has a large terrace with sea views and external steps to the dining terrace and pool area. All the bedrooms are en-suite (3 with showers 1 with bath plus shower) and large enough to accommodate a cot if required. There is a small double sofa bed in the roof bedroom and a single chair bed in the twin room giving extra flexibility, each bedroom has iPod/iPhone docking stations. The lounge has iPod docking station CD player, SKY TV, DVD and a Nintendo Wii. The basement games room has air hockey, table football and multi gym. Outdoor table tennis.

The villa has it's own large backup/reserve water tank.

The large private swimming pool is attractively shaped with easy access via Roman steps and there is a separate children's pool.

Villa Zeytin Koru is very close to the Kalamar road so it is mainly a fairly flat 15-20 minute walk along a well lit road to and from the top of the old town with just one short hill. This makes it possible to walk into the centre of Kalkan even in the height of summer and it is a pleasant stroll back after dinner without the need to take a taxi. There are many small bars and cafés along the road so you can stop for shade and refreshment or a night-cap if required! The sea-front and beach-club at Kalamar Bay are closer but the walk is obviously steeper, approx 5-10 minute down and slightly longer on the way back. If you visit the beach club they will provide complimentary transport back to the Villa to avoid the climb back up. There are also two well stocked mini-markets and several cafés/restaurants very close to the Villa (2-5 minute walk) so a car, although useful, is not essential. Airport transfers can be arranged on request at additional cost.

Our English manager provides a meet and greet service on arrival at the Villa and acts as a local contact in case of any problems or queries during your stay.

“Go and see for yourself you will not be dissappointed!”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2015

We arrived at night so the welcome pack was a god send, we dumped our cases and headed straight out to the Yelkin bistro it was the nearest we could see, it was really nice food. The next morning we couldn't wait to get up and see the views, sitting on the balcony with a cup of tea looking out to sea what more could you want it felt like paradise. The villa more than met our expectations, it has everything you need, we loved the outside space and the decent size pool, it is in a perfect location. The villa felt like home and all the bedrooms are a decent size. There are several bars and restaurants close by so if you don't feel like the walk into town there is no need to. We ended up making Café Vita our local, if we didn't eat in there we always ended up in there for a night cap, such lovely and friendly people and the food is superb, you must go on bar b q night, really good value. We also recommend Ekin Han hotel, the views are wonderful and again the food was superb it was funny meeting a Turkish Scouser (one of the owners) being Scousers ourselves! Another local restaurant to try is The Brothers again really nice food and people, it was funny watching one of the waiters trying in vain to stop a small puppy coming into the restaurant he had to give up in the end! Highlight of out stay was a return to Adams Place it has to be our favourite restaurant he is based on the road to Kas and he will come and pick you up, the restaurant is ran by Adam and his family and nothing is too much trouble, the views are outstanding and the food is divine.Lots of other restaurants in town but too many too mention all of them really nice food and friendly people. Kalkan is such a beautiful place, we love place, the food, the people and the wildlife we even found wild tortoises living in the bottom garden. We have all thoroughly enjoyed and had a very relaxing holiday at Zeytin Koru and will certainly like to return in the future. Thank you :)

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay at our villa, very pleased you had a great time, the local area has had a major boost with the Brothers and Yelken opening this season nice to see them get a mention. We hope you do manage to visit again. Regards Stuart & Cath

“A fabulous stay at villa Zeytin Koru”

Reviewed 16 Jun 2015

We arrived at villa Zeytin Koru in the early hours of a Saturday morning following a good transfer from Dalaman which was arranged via the owner. It was lovely to arrive to a welcome pack consisting of beer, wine, fruit juice, milk, tea, coffee etc a perfect way to start the holiday! The villa itself is lovely, was spotlessly clean and spacious, with lovely outside space and a fantastic pool. It is actually a traditional Turkish style home, with three bedrooms on the ground floor and the living room & kitchen / diner on the first floor leading onto a lovely terraced area which gives superb sea views and is a lovely place to eat and drink. This type of layout is excellent, as the bedrooms all give easy access to the pool area, so although it feels odd at first, it's very practical. The facilities within the villa are ideal and plentiful, the dishwasher is a god send, the Sky TV was a bonus and the owners even have a little mobile phone left there for you so that the English lady who manages the place for them, Sharon, can contact you or vice versa should the need arise (she gives excellent advice on shops, bars & restaurants etc and lives locally). There is also a very good BBQ on the first floor terrace which we used a couple of times, cooking lovely steaks whilst drinking cold beers looking out to sea is a must! The location of the villa is very good, a car is not required, as it's a ten minute stroll into town (Kalkan is quite hilly but the walk along the Kalamar Road is more or less flat) and if you know the Turks, you'll know that the shop or minimarket owners and most bar / restaurant owners will pick you up or drop you back if you ask. Otherwise, it's a couple of quid in a taxi. As for places to eat, we have holidayed in Turkey for the last 4 years and never had a bad meal, the food standard is brilliant and caters for all. There are so many places to eat in the old town (too many to mention), with several lovely places close to the villa along Kalamar Road such as Cafe Vita (good for breakfast and BBQ night), Yelkin, Kaptans and more besides. Overall we were very happy indeed and would highly recommend this villa.

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking the time to write a review, it's really appreciated. Very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will consider staying at Zeytin Koru in the future. Stuart & Cath

“A beautiful well appointed villa in a fabulous location”

Reviewed 14 May 2015

This a a superb villa in a great location. This villa is spacious and will accommodate 8 people comfortably. The pool is quite large and was warm when we were there (early May). The views down to the bay are lovely. The villa is about half a mile from the town of Kalkan. There are many restaurants within a couple of hundred yards of the villa. This is a great place to stay for a relaxing holiday.

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking the time to write a review, we really appreciate getting feedback, it is important to us as we try to improve and cater for all, also great to see the local restaurants cafes and bars getting a mention. We are so pleased you had a great time and hope you will return again in the future. Stuart & Cath

“Book it! You will love your stay.”

Reviewed 16 Apr 2015

Stuart offered lots of advice before we booked and was so friendly and welcoming and sent us lots of information once we had booked the villa. Emailing us Maps, local information and recommendations. There was a welcome pack with food and drink waiting for us on arrival along with a spotlessly clean and inviting place to stay. My Husband and I travelled with our 2 young children and they had a ball. They loved the pool, all the outside space, TV, Games and of course the amazing games room. The Vila is in a perfect location, there is a excellent Restaurant at the top of the road. Plus lots of choice a short walk into town. We had a car which meant we could explore more, which I recommend. But, this is not necessary as the village of Kalkan has more than enough to tempt. Great Villa, Amazing location. Thank You!

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback, it really is appreciated. So pleased that you had a great time and hope you will consider returning in the future. Stuart & Cath

“Great family villa”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2014

Celebrated my 50th birthday with my wife, 3 children (aged 18 to 24) and parents (in their 70's). After a slight problem with lack of hot water at the start of the holiday we all had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this villa. Brilliant pool, great for lazing around during the day. In the evenings we alternated eating out in Kalkan and staying at the villa where where we enjoyed two excellent barbeques sitting outside watching the sun go down. Bedrooms are all good sizes and the air conditioning is particularly good. Walk to the old town is 15 to 20 minutes but we all enjoyed the exercise. The only slightly frustrating issue was that watching SKY TV in the evenings was very difficult because the signal kept breaking up. Apart from that a perfect week.

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback without this we couldn't react and sort problems out.. I believe the hot water situation is now resolved (and the gardener now knows not to unplug the backup pump!) the villa Sky system relies on the internet connection and following the feedback we have decided to take advantage of the new 35meg speed upgrade, that should resolve any bandwidth issues and allow multiple internet sessions without degrading the Sky service. Hope you had a great 50th and celebrated in style and will consider our villa for any future visits.

“Spacious and Comfortable villa in a great location for a lovely family holiday”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2013

This is a great villa for a family holiday. Good location and views from the terraces. Very spacious with 4 double rooms (all en-suite). Great pool. Owners very thoughtful with information/service provided and how the villa is equipped etc.! Would definitely recommend this villa and go again. Kalkan is a great location too! With great restaurants etc.

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking the time to review, we are very pleased that you and your whole extended family enjoyed the holiday and hope that you will return in the future... as they say, 'Kalkan, no one visits just once'

“Stunning villa in a stunning town!”

Reviewed 12 Oct 2013

Our fourth consecutive year in Kalkan and our second consecutive year in villa Zeytin Koru, and last year's review is also on this site. Amazingly our holiday and the villa were even better this year. The villa now benefits from a new kitchen and it's worth repeating just how good the pool is. Tracy, who manages the Villa, was her usual very welcoming, friendly and helpful self. The two local cafe bars (in particular Cafe Aqua and owner Yusuf and his brother) are excellent and the bar at the Elixir Hotel (only another two minutes walk) is a brilliant place to meet other people. Ali, the bar manager, is very friendly, speaks excellent English - and makes cocktails to die for! This year we discovered the Ekin Han hotel and ended up eating there on 4 occasions. It is less than 5 minutes from the villa (exit left from the villa up to the Kalamar Road and turn left). The food, service and view are all excellent and it's every bit as good as any restaurant in Kalkan town. Another absolutely great holiday and many thanks to Stuart and Cath for renting out their wonderful villa.

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking the time to write a review, we really appreciate getting feedback, it is important to us as we try to improve and cater for all, also great to read reviews of the local restaurants cafes and bars. We are so pleased you had a great time and hope you will return again in the future. Stuart & Cath

“An absolute gem!”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2013

We travelled as a family group: myself, two daughters and their husband/partner and my 3 year old grandson. The whole booking process was so easy and Stuart, the owner, was so helpful and answered all queries courteously and promptly, and arranged our transfers to and from Dalaman airport. The villa was in an ideal location, in a quiet area, a pleasant walk from the town, although we did indulge in taxis back as it was so hot. The pool was stunning, and deep enough for the boys to dive in safely and much fun was had in retrieving items from the bottom. The childrens pool was perfect for my Grandson, although he did come in the 'big boys pool' due to the easy access via the steps and enjoyed it immensely. Kalkan itself is an ideal destination with many excellent restaurants and lovely shops and the locals are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. The villa was so well equiped we lacked for nothing, even down to tiny details such as socket adaptors and buggies. Tracy, the manager, was brilliant and rapidly sorted a problem with internet access. The boys really appreciated the Sky Sports for the cricket and golf, and my Grandson for his favourite childrens programmes for the bedtime wind down! I just happened to e-mail Stuart about whether there was a gate at the top of the basement steps and he arranged for this to be done prior to our arrival!! That is exemplary customer service!! We have had a perfect holiday and we would definately come again! Book with confidence!

Response from the owner Thankyou for taking the time to write such a nice review. We are so pleased that we were able to contribute to a wonderful holiday in Villa Zeytin Koru. It was a pleasure having such lovely guests stay in our villa and we hope to see you again.

“Beautiful villa with excellent pool and shady areas”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2013

The villa is everything it says it is, very comfortable and spacious. All rooms feel airy. Good location in Kalamar with lovely cafes very nearby. A bit of a walk to town but manageable and a taxi on the way back is easy and does not cost much. Kalamar Beach Club is great and the free lift back to the villa is a great bonus. The sea there is amazing and its easy to spend the day there.

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking the time to respond, feedback is how we know what we are doing is appreciated. Stuart & Cath

“Fantastic Villa, highly recommended”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2013

We booked Villa Zeytin Koru as a party of 8 people - a 2 and a 4 year old, 14 year old and other family members and it was extremely suitable for everyone. The villa is fantastic, it has the most lovely view of the sea from the outside eating area just off the lounge. This was where we spent most of the time when sitting as it had a great canopy to give you a bit of a rest from the Turkish sun! I really can not fault the villa - it was big, spotlessly clean, the beds were really comfortable, extremley well equipped even to the point of having some plastic plates and bowls for my 2 year old to use... there was a Wii, dvd player, Sky tv, toys, books, magazines - the most well equipped villa I have stayed in. The pool was fantastic, a really good size with lots of sunbeds and cleaned everyday. There are a few pool toys also which the children appreciated playing with. Tracy who looks after you in the resort is English and brilliant, extremely helpful and it's peace of mind to know someone is there should you need anything in an emergency. It took about 20 minutes to walk into Kalkan, the town is stunning by the harbour, so pretty with amazing restaurants - the food was top quality. We often caught a taxi back as it's easier coming down the hill than walking back with pushchairs! ;-) The booking procedure was also faultless and Stuart was very informative from the very start of the booking with information to the end. You won't be dissapointed if you stay at this villa and we are rather fussy!

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking the time to write a review, getting feedback is really important to us as we try to improve and cater for all. We are so pleased you had a great time and hope you will return. Stuart & Cath
