“Fantastic Again !”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2016

Just returned from our 2nd year on the run at Villa Teshir and once again we loved it. The villa is spacious, clean & cosy indoors & out. We spent the vast majority of our days & evenings either lounging on the sun beds and cooling off in the villas good sized and very clean pool or by evening on the terrace or upper balcony admiring the views across Kalkan, out to sea and across to the mountains - breathtaking ! On our final day we had to vacate the villa, as Previously agreed, by 11am, the Owners & Roger (the Villas Agent) arranged for us to stay at a nearby facility for the day as our flight wasn't leaving til late evening. We spent our last day warmly welcomed by the other facilities staff who stored our cases, allowed us to use their infinity pool, sunbeds & towels, eat at their poolside restaurant and use their showers before our departure - a very lovely end to another happy holiday at Teshir. The owners are very easy to contact and reply to any questions with speed and helpfulness - in fact the Owners go above & beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay at their villa. Teshir is just far enough away from Kalkan centre to enjoy peace & quiet yet Only a short enjoyable walk away or Taxi home to avoid hills on the warmer days. We would highly recommend Villa Teshir to our friends & family. Huge Thank You Ray & Gill for everything again this year x

“Absolutely fabulous!!”

Not our first holiday at this villa and we are SO glad we repeated the experience. It was as good as we had remembered – a real home from home. Ray and Gill obviously treat this as their own home not just a holiday let and it shows! The pictures on the web site really are true to life - it is as good as it looks. The standard of furnishing and equipment is exceptional; everything you could ask for from air conditioning in every room to good quality sun umbrellas on the large pool terrace. Both bedrooms are en-suite, lounge fully equipped with comfy suite (not that we used it more than once), kitchen with everything you need – from large fridge/freezer to a dishwasher with plenty of crockery to make full use of it. The outside area is extraordinary – something for everyone; large pool, plenty of sun terrace with beds, dining area and quiet area for reading in the shade if you desire. That is not to mention the upper terrace which we kept for evening aperitifs – fab views, drinks tables, settees! Both the villa and the outdoor areas are large and roomy; 4 of us went (2 couples) and we had plenty of space to be on our own or sun bathe together without being on top of each other. And believe me the way I carry on – 5 minutes sun/ 5 minutes shade it was good the sun worshippers among us could be left in peace! The views from the villa are stunning and we never tired of looking out over Kalkan bay – a stroll downhill – beautiful village with many varied restaurants; those we tried serving good quality, tasty food. Ray and Gill were so helpful and promptly answered any questions we had prior to going and along with their manager, Helen, we felt that we were in good hands while there, Helen even going to the trouble to visit and make sure all was well and that we were happy. Housekeeping was also first class – from the daily visit by the pool man to the cleaners that came in half way through our holiday. Ray and Gill thank you for not cutting any corners and making this, once again, a holiday to remember and also to Helen for her discreet management.

“beautiful place to relax”

Great villa with a beautiful view ! We felt very relaxed and well looked after by the people organising the stay. Would definitely recommend it!!

“Fantastic Villa !”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2015

Villa Teshir ticks all the boxes ... a very spacious, cosy villa which enjoys fantastic views over Kalkan, the sea and mountains. We spent a large amount of time at the villa relaxing on the large terrace next to the villa's private and very lovely pool which is cleaned daily at 5am, very quietly so you're not disturbed. The terrace also has plenty of space for sitting and for dining. In June the villa enjoyed a lovely gentle welcome breeze after a very hot day in the Kalkan sun. We found the villa to be spotlessly clean, the villa has excellent WiFi access if needed. Everything about our holiday was slick, from communication with Ray & Gill, the villa's owners, to our taxi collection from Dalaman airport by Brave Tours and "reluctant" return to Dalaman Airport on our day of departure - all arranged via Ray & Gill. Helen's the Travel Consultant who's English and lives in Kalkan, we found her to be very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and super-efficient, Helen's extremely easy to contact, should you need her assistance with anything her response time is unbelievably fast ! Kalkan itself is a lovely resort, we found it to be peaceful, relaxing and friendly. There's a huge amount of lovely restaurants to choose from, many roof top and romantic (try Gourmet). The Harbour was a lovely place to visit, again lovely restaurants and bars, all immaculately clean and the waiter service all over Kalkan was amazing, you were made to feel special in every bar or restaurant and on the boat trips we took (recommend Sea Bella). For those who love to shop Kalkan is a shopaholics paradise - we'd suggest leaving some space in your case for all the lovely leather items that'll tempt you along with watches and jewellery - we tried so hard to resist temptation and failed miserably ! Kalkan is a hilly resort, Villa Teshir is located up a hill slightly, hence the breath taking views. You can easily take a nice gentle walk into Kalkan from the villa which we found took 10 minutes max, the return trip may be a little hilly for some, but there are plenty of taxis available, we were charged just £3 on the days we were feeling lazy. I've read a few negative reviews about the street dogs & cats that live in Kalkan - we found the dogs to be very gentle and friendly and no problem whatsoever, the cats mostly keep themselves to themselves, as cats do ! Meeting many of the dogs actually enhanced our holiday experience, if you don't like dogs the dogs simply stay away from you. We loved our first holiday to Kalkan so we've decided to return in 2016 to celebrate our 50th Birthdays. We cannot recommend Villa Teshir highly enough, Thank You Ray, Gill & Helen, not forgetting Brave Tours, for making our 2015 summer escape one to remember for all the right reasons.

“Great villa, wonderful resort, fantastic holiday”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2015

Four of us stayed in Villa Teshir which is a very comfortable villa in a perfect location in Kalkan. Outside spacious area of the villa is perfect for relaxing and a lovely pool for cooling off. It was so quiet and peaceful but just an eight minute walk into town and you are in a vibrant, bustling town with superb roof top restaurants, friendly staff and great shopping for the ladies! Two good size bedrooms, both en suite, was perfect for two couples. Lots of areas to relax, both in sunshine and shade. The weather was perfect but the stone built villa ensured we were cool at all times, and air con available if required. Good WiFi connection. Can't wait to return!

“Our 3rd time in the villa and wonderful as always!”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2014

Our 3rd time in your villa in 4 years and once again we can't say enough how much we enjoyed ourselves. The addition of wifi in the villa was a great idea and along with all the other facilities means that it was very hard to tear ourselves away on the last day to come back to the UK. We will be in touch about out next visit soon. Thanks again, Andrew and Sara. Ps thank you for organising our transfers and the welcome pack at the villa.

“A lovely villa in a great resort”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2014

This was our third visit to Kalkan. We love it. The resort suits our family needs, with fantastic restaurants in a lovely harbour town. Yes, Kalkan is hilly but we knew that and down in the harbour area it adds to the attraction with tiers if roof-top restaurants. We always hire a car to get about, particularly to go to Patara beach - just 10 to 15 minutes drive up the coast and the best beach I've been to in the Med. As for Villa Teshir, Ray and Gill couldn't have been more helpful and friendly throughout. They helped us with transfers and car hire and even tried to help us accommodate other family members in premises not owned by them. The villa itself is in an excellent location with stunning views up and away from the busier part of town. Other than to sleep and shower, we didn't spend a lot if time indoors but when we did, it was clean and comfortable. The pool area is lovely and in August the water was without any chill. Highly recommended resort and villa.

“Amazing and well situated villa”

The villa was awesome, even better than what the pictures showed. We absolutely recommend it. Everything is well-maintained. Its within a few minutes walk from shops, groceries and restaurants but still in a very quiet area.

“Fantastic Villa with great views”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2014

Our whole experience from start to finish has been fantastic. When we contacted Ray & Gill about the booking they were so helpful. This is the first time we had booked a Villa (really don't why we hadn't done it before) and the process was really simple. Ray guided us through the steps and answered all of my questions. Anything from sorting out taxis to and from the airport (Taxi was great with water, chocolate and a wrap if the aircon was too cold) to recommending a local Gym (the one I used was great 100tl for 2 weeks and only 10 mins walk from the Villa). The Villa itself is very nicely situated for a fantastic view over Kalkan. Inside there is everything you would need. Candles for romantic nights, Wifi for streaming music over Spotify or surfing the Net, Aircon in every room if needed, s/s skewers to make your own kebabs for the BBQ and the list could go on. The swimming pool is just the right size for those oh so very hot days or the hot climb back to the villa. Sitting eating breakfast outside, while watching the boats go out on their trips from the harbour ---- priceless. Helen (the lady who looks after things) was a lovely lady. As we had been to Turkey many times, we didn't need her that much. She came and saw us first day (give us a lift to the local supermarket on her way back), miss her second week, but that was fine. Then we phoned before we were leaving and she popped up for a chat. We saw the cleaners once and never the pool man as he comes at 5 am. We were left in privacy the rest of the time which was really great. We walked to Kalkan town every night (15 mins stroll which is lovely) and then got the taxi home (10tlr every night as I had to direct the taxi drivers as they had no clue. That's £2.80) as the walk is mostly up hill. I would say that if your not mobile or have a pushchair it might be slightly hard and exhausting after 2 weeks of climbing the steps. Thanks to Ray & Gill and of course Helen for making this a great experience.

“Superb villa and location. Best villa holiday ever. Faultless.”

Reviewed 27 May 2014

This villa was the nicest we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in quite a few !). The facilities are great - lovely pool, comfy beds, DVD player, film library (on TV) iPod docking station etc etc..... The welcome pack was much more than we had anticipated and was delicious ! The cleanliness was outstanding and Helen (the owners representative in resort) achieved the balance between giving care and information and respecting our privacy. She also helped to ease our stress and sort out our dilemma when the airline decided to cancel our flights at short notice ! Kalkan is enchanting and we will definitely be going back again - providing this villa is available . Should also mention that the taxi transfers were arranged by the villa owner and were punctual and very comfortable. Excellent all-round. Thanks Ray and Gill.
