About This Listing
Stay with Abi's family in this cute and comfy little home, slightly off the (about to be) beaten path to Pasikudah Beach.
The Space
Sweet not only because it literally looks like a candy house straight out of a fairytale, but also because this place is run by a very nice hardworking family.
It's not so easy to define what makes us like this place so much. Maybe it's just the overall good vibes it spreads. Named after the family's daughter, Abi's guesthouse looks like Hans and Gretel come to visit whenever they're around. Newly built and freshly painted in bright, girly colors, this home is as sweet and lovely as it's owners are.
Apart from how it's decorated, the house itself is comfortable, but pretty much standard. A decent room with a proper bed and private bathroom, plus a nice verandah, what else do you want?
Interaction with Guests
As this is a family-run guesthouse, everything is done by Abi's family. When we were there this meant dad did the talking, mum did the serving and Abi and her sister ran errands, a pretty standard division of labour... well, everywhere. We're sure it's dad who will arrange local activities and transportation for his guests, while mum will do the cooking and housekeeping.
All in all, Abi's seems to work just fine.
The Neighborhood
Now, we think Pasikudah is remarkable for its seemingly limitless ambition to become... we're not sure what exactly, but it's becoming something pretty fast. All we know is that Pasikudah Beach is absolutely gorgeous at its northern-most tip and beyond that where the rocks and palm trees seem to run straight into the water.
Apparently the bay's water flow changed quite dramatically because of the Tsunami, resulting in choppier waters that are increasingly attracting surfers on their way to Arugam Bay. But we don't surf, so don't take our word for it.
