Kalogria and Strofilia forest is a pine tree forest unique in Eastern Mediterranean and extends for 9 kilometers along the famous and "blue flag" sandy coast of Kalogria, protected as a Natura area and under Ramsar convention, very close to Prokopos lake. The Villa itself is historic since it was first built in 18th century as a monastery,by a nun=Kalogria who stayed there for all her life with other nuns ,and gave the area her name. The place was ruined in 1840 but was rebuilt in early 1900's and used ever since as a farmer house.
The present owner bought it in 2010 and fully renovated it for almost 2 more years. The Villa offers discrete vacations since it is situated just under Black mountains very close to the beach dunes, yet isolated using its private road to reach it.
There are three canteens at the 9 klm long sandy beach you can relax all day and night and nice tavernas with really local fresh meat (it's called the Texas of Greece because of the numerous cows around the lake) and fresh fish from the sea or the Prokopos lake nearby in excellent prices.Fresh meals could be served at prearranged hours in Villa Dunes upon requirement.
Fishing with the fishermen in Prokopos lake could be arranged.
