Hampden House offers guests serene accommodation amongst beautiful established grounds overlooking the Valley escarpment with private access to the Kangaroo River.

Built towards the end of the 1800s, Hampden House retains many of its original features including outbuildings, 3 sandstone fireplaces, century old hardwood flooring and cedar windows. It is set on acreage with frontage to the Kangaroo River and is a short stroll to the quaint heritage listed village of Kangaroo Valley. The house has wide verandahs with extensive views of the surrounding valley escarpments. The property has been in the same family for 5 generations and the current host is the great grand-daughter of the original owner.

The main house has 4 bedrooms featuring many of the property’s original furnishings. The kitchen and separate living room offer stunning views of the property surrounds and feature the original chimneys, echoing the sandstone of the renowned Hampden Bridge.

Hampden House sits beyond a laurel hedge amongst fruit trees and the vegie patch. Meander in the orchard or down to the waters edge and listen to the gently flowing river as you relax in the garden.

Make yourself at home, relax in front of the fire or on the verandah with a good book and take in the clean crisp country air of one of Australia’s most beautiful regions. Discover the tranquil world of Kangaroo Valley and enjoy this elegantly furnished house which is suitable for couples who enjoy their own company or for a small group of family or friends.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Karen (the owner) a message.

If Karen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
