Skansen is a 100 year-old traditional red cottage with all of the modern features you could want. It is ideal for a family holiday, set in a quiet and secluded location in the middle of the forest with plenty of places to walk, fish and just enjoy nature. The large grassy area to the front of the property provides a safe place for children to play and run around.
It has 3 bedrooms, kitchen/diner, sitting room, shower-room/toilet and large (midge-screened) verandah.
Forest birds and animals such as roe deer are regular visitors: you might even get to see an elk! Throughout the summer, wild raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and chanterelle mushrooms can be found within minutes of leaving the property.
It is situated in the Värmland region of Sweden, 12 Km. south of the E18 [Oslo - Stockholm road] and 30 Kms. from the beautiful town of Åmål next to the largest lake in Sweden. Norway is less than an hour away; and two golf courses can be found in a 30 minute drive. In around 45 minutes, you can be at the large natural park, Glaskogen, where all types of activities are on offer.
