1936 was build in the interwar period and was just recently fully renovated to become modern, artistic, practical and comfortable. The apartment is located on the first floor of a three-floor building. It consists of a living room with a sofa bed, a bedroom with balcony, a kitchen with a large dining table and a small but picturesque bathroom. The apartment is very sunny from early in the morning until sunset. It features views to the old port of Kavala that hosts old traditional fishing boats and sailing boats and to the aqueduct of the old city (Camares) an emblematic spot of Kavala.
The house is located at the heart of the city, just outside the walls of the old city. The neighboring church of Saint Nicholas is a monument itself built in the 16th century originally as a mosque, which was later converted into a Greek-orthodox temple. Next to it you will find Monument Apostle Paul, a 35m2 mosaic synthesis commemorating the arrival of Apostle Paul in Neapolis of Philippi.
This is the liveliest area of Kavala. Cafes, bars and restaurants surround the house. The city's central square is located a few steps away along with the main shopping streets. You can catch a bus to the nearest beach or even visit the nearby island of Thassos (Kavala Ferry dock is less than 500m away). Almost every beach in the area is well organized with beach bars, umbrellas and toilet/shower facilities. You can also visit the archaeological site of Philippi, a UNESCO heritage monument which includes an ancient theater hosting major plays and concerts during the Filippi festival in the summer. Kavala airport is located only 18 km away and is easily accessible by private car, taxi and bus.
