Tzia - for the ones who have already loved this Aegean island- or Kea on the map, equates to the discovery of the essential and is a travel-changing experience which stays with you for life.
The island's simple beauty and authenticity conquer the visitor unexpectedly. Few are aware of its existence, as its famous Cycladic "sister islands"used to overshadow its scenic wilderness in the past; thus Tzia managed to retain its original character for its faithful admirers.
The house, built in the 19th century, is located at the centre of Ioulida, the amphitheatrical, picturesque capital of the island, spread over three hills. The few minutes climb to the house from the compulsory parking at the entrance of the village is a small sacrifice, which rewards you with the peace of a car free environment. Climbing the large steps leading to it, you will feel like going back in time..
The view from the house is breathtaking- overlooking the sea and the Castle hill. The building, built in 2 levels, is renovated, but all the traditional features of local architecture have been preserved.
It comprises three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen opening to the lovely view. The balcony will be your private stall into the neverending performance of the Aegean sea, playing 24 hours a day for the spectators. The village sounds of church bells, the song of birds or dogs barking in the distance, will put you in the mood of a simple stressfree life from day one.
The house is fully furnished and equipped with kitchenware, oven, washing machine and all you need for your holidays or a longer stay.
There is a public transport from Ioulida to many beautiful beaches of the island but car or motorbike hire is available if you wish to head for the most secluded spots by the sea which we will reveal to you if you promise not to tell… Ancient paths start from Ioulida and they will surprise you with the beauty of the scenery around them.. If you take the classic itinerary to the ancient Lion (Lionta) before the sunset, don't forget to touch its nose; they say it brings luck to the visitors!
During the last twenty five years the fair winds take us to this island, blessed by the sun and its unspoilt peace, and we keep discovering something new..
Let us not forget: if you are a herbs and roots "aficionado" Tzia is the paradise spot you were looking for!
