Villa Romonea is a first class luxury villa in Kep, Cambodia.
Kep started out as a stylish beachside retreat during the 1920’s and grew in popularity with both foreigners and Khmers alike until by 1960 it was called the St.-Tropez of Southeast Asia (Kep-sur-Mer). Grand villas were built along the coast.
Constructed in 1968, Villa Romonea was designed by Lu Ban Hap, one of the Le Corbusier disciples behind the New Khmer Architecture movement of the mid-20th century.
Villa Romonea was the last villa built before the war.
The villa escaped relatively unscathed under the Khmer Rouge. Now it remains on the of best examples of Modernist villas in Kep.
The villa has been rennoavted and furnished in keeping with it’s history with curves and banks of windows opening on to views of the sea or the mountains behind. The rooms are furnished with bold colours and design classics to evoke the bygone era.
The villa feels like a home not a hotel. The friendly and personable staff got out of their way to ensure you feel at home. Amazing breakfasts under the mango tree by the saltwater infinity pool are an unforgettable start to each day
Villa Romonea was built to integrate Feng Shui principles, as such it reflects its dynamic location between the sea and the mountains.
Perfect for a party, a wedding or more simply a getaway break, the Villa offers the best sea views of the bay of Kampot.
The villa has six rooms a fully stoked kitchen and dining room and a spacious lounge.
