Riverside Cottage, located on the banks of the River Greta is ideally situated for the ideal Lake District getaway, close enough to walk into Keswick and far enough away to enjoy perfect peace and quiet upon your return.

Parking is private, off road and will accommodate two regular sized cars comfortably.

Riverside is a traditional Cumbrian cottage which has been tastefully modernised and decorated to provide our guests with a home from home, fully central heated throughout.

We provide hand towels, tea towels, dishwasher tablets, hand wash gel and I also bake a cake for all our guests.

Please note towels are not included, we can supply good quality towels (two per guest) at a cost of £4.00 per guest.

The sitting area is light airy and comfortable with a remote control, gas stove and a smart TV.

The dining/Kitchen area which features a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and hob, microwave oven overlooks the river and has the original slate flooring and period fireplace (not operational). A stable door opens onto a delightful patio area, ideal for bird/wildlife watching. There are binoculars and bird books in the dining room and a second TV and DAB radio.

Internet is (around 25Mbps), unlimited and free and can be used to stream videos on the TV you will need a Netflix account.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a twin to the front and a double to the rear plus a single, all beds are “Sealy” manufacture and our guests love them.

There is a shower room downstairs with toilet and washbasin and a bathroom upstairs with toilet, washbasin and bath.

We also provide a hairdryer.

We look after Riverside Cottage personally and like to make every guest welcome, though due to varying arrival times we leave the keys in a key safe to the right of the front door, you will receive an email two days prior to the start of your holiday with the key safe code. Hi, I am mortified having taken so long to respond to such a lovely review, in mitigation TripAdvisor used to notify us when a review had been posted but no longer do so and as we have very few bookings on anything other than our website on cost grounds we completely missed the review. Daphne makes all the cakes and after 22 years has just about got it right, would you like the recipe? Again thank you so much Michael & Daphne.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Daphne/ Robert Michael (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Daphne/ Robert Michael (the owner) a message.

If Daphne/ Robert Michael (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
