Description

NO BOOKING FEE. The Byre is a single storey barn conversion completed in June 2018 and opened in July 2018, it has a vaulted, open plan lounge/dining/kitchen and one bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

The kitchen area is very well fitted with granite worktops and integrated dishwasher, induction hob, fridge/freezer and oven with separate microwave.

The dining area has table and four chairs and the lounge area has comfortable seating for three/four and a smart TV with Freeview Plus. There is a underfloor heating throughout and a fireplace with wood burning stove.

The bedroom has a king size bed and there is ample room for a cot or cot bed both of which can be provided on request. The bedroom also has a TV with WiFi. There is free WiFi throughout the property.

The bathroom has a bath with shower over, washbasin and toilet.

There is a separate guest laundry with washing machine and tumble drier available for guests’ use.

Cyclists are welcome, there are numerous cycle routes passing near to the property and we can provide secure locked storage and washing facilities for bikes.

Outside there is a secluded patio area with table and chairs overlooking the gardens.

On site there is a well stocked coarse fishing lake which guests are welcome to use, free of charge (fishing gear can be provided if necessary). There is also a tennis court and again guests can use this free of charge, balls and tennis racquets are available if needed. Also on site is a large stable block, menage and paddocks and guests can bring their own horses (extra charge, please enquire).

There is no public transport in the village and so a car is a necessity but there are plenty of walks locally and the farm is on a major Sustrans cycle route.

Stayed here for a 5 night break, and couldn’t have asked for a better place. We found this place after a random search, but it was superb. Brand new, superbly equipped and located. The ‘welcome basket’ was the best ever and an absolute feast. The owners are very friendly and our dog was made very welcome. The holiday cottages are not too far off the beaten track but are in a beautiful location. After our break we felt well and truly relaxed and will return.

The Byre is a stunning brand new barn conversion (July 2018), very comfortable and modern yet retaining its rustic charm, renovated and decorated in impeccably good taste. It forms part of a small collection of barn conversions and cottages surrounded by beautiful countryside on Low Moor Farm, where you will also have use of a tennis court, fishing lake and children's play area including a trampoline. With stables in the grounds, we loved visiting the horses (horse-riding at the farm isn't possible, but there are other horse-riding stables a short drive away if you wish to ride). There is plenty to do in the area, for adults and children alike. To name but a few... gorge scrambling, canoeing and via ferrata at How Stean Gorge; quad biking, landrover off-roading and clay pigeon shooting at Yorkshire Outdoors; horse-riding at Boltby Stables; Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Gardens; rock-climbing and hill-walking in many places in the area; shopping, cafes and restaurants in Thirsk, Northallerton and York. Or just relaxing at the farm. The owners, Karen and Jeff, are a lovely couple who are friendly but discrete, and always happy to help. They left a very generous welcome pack and made our stay really enjoyable. We stayed two weeks, and didn't want to leave! We highly recommend it!
