You will always be able to contact me during your stay at my villa. Phone number will be given through your welcome package. If there is any serious issue either myself or someone from my family can drive from Colombo and meet you. Otherwise I just want you to enjoy your stay at my place. Indrani our maid is there to take care of you and if you have any questions or concerns she speaks really good English and can help at any point in time.

Dear Olga, I apologize that you felt this bad about staying at my property. In regards to a few points that you had made. Water pressure - please note that this was out of our hands as mentioned to you during your stay the government had decided to reduce the water supply during this time period, which I unfortunately was unaware of. They would provide a normal flow of water for only a few hours a day, usually afternoon. Therefore, the overall water pressure was low. As I had mentioned to you both Indrani and the manager from another property called the water board of the Galle area to find out what was going on and when the water supply would be back to normal. They however had mentioned that due to not enough rain they cannot bring back the normal water supply. Washing machine - prior to arriving to the villa I had mentioned to you that the washing machine was broken. I was out of the country for a few days so was not able to get it repaired. However, we had given the option of having everything you required washed and brought back to you. It takes some time to get certain items fixed and I tried my best to get this done during the period of your stay. Nonetheless, I tried to provide you with another option of cleaning your clothe. Cleanliness of the house - as I myself was not there during this period it is hard for me to comment on the "cleanliness" of the house. But I had people staying before you came and also have people staying at the house now and I have yet to hear any complains about the house being so dirty. In regards to the furniture being worn out please note that this is not a very truthful statement as in the end of the day this is still my house and I make sure that if anything is broken to the point that it cannot be used the way you speak about it that I will make sure for it to get replaced. Also a lot of our furniture are actually antiques and not "old" furniture as you describe them to be. Unfortunately sometimes there will be some stains on furniture especially when you let it to other people but I can assure you that we do not cover anything with rags. Outside dining area the chairs we have had for a while and have just recently bought brand new pillow covers from IKEA in order for guests to sit on nice pillows. Cleaning with car wash the dishes - I had spoken to my maid and she had mentioned that she had just bought dish soap to clean everything and that she would of course not us car wash. Here again I cannot say what really happened as I have to take both sides to the story, in any case I do apologize if this happened and of course can understand that this was not a good situation. All in all, I do apologize that you had such a bad experience staying at my villa. But I must say that this is the first time I have had such a review. I did visit the villa a few days after you left and all the points that you had made are just a bit over the top. In regards to the lamps being broken. Upstairs on the outside of the balcony on the side wall 2 lamps are broken that is correct as we have a small monkey issue and they just enjoy exploring our lamps and sometimes end up breaking them. We actually had the same lamps as we have downstairs upstairs as well but came to realize that metal lamps are better for that area as they are not able to break them. The house was clean and actually occupied during my visit by 2 lovely ladies who have had nothing bad to say about their stay. Also, in regards to your comments about all types of insects and so called "infestations", I would like to point out that yes from time to time you might find bugs and insects as we do live in the tropics and the house is a) right in front of a lake and b) has a huge garden, but so called infestations are not existing, because I myself would not stay there if that was the case. Why can't I call Jessica (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jessica (the owner) a message.

If Jessica (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
