Come and join us at Sudu Gedara for some rest and relaxation on the South Coats of Sri Lanka.

Sitting on an acre of land and fronting on to the lake, this 4 bed villa can comfortably fit 8 guests and has 3 staff to help make your stay a memorable one.

(that's if the resident monkeys and peacocks don't do that for you already :)

Drink in the morning sun whilst overlooking the lake and enjoying a cup of local Sri Lankan tea. From there feel free to relax in the large garden, by the pool or dow.

The space

Sudu Gedara is spacious and has been designed to allow for large groups and solo travellers alike.

Each double room has en suite bathroom and showers, there is a large communal area, outdoor dining on the pool deck overlooking the lake and large gardens running alongside and through the whole development.

It is a 15 minute walk to the beach, restaurants and bars of Thalpe and Unawatuna in addition The heritage listed Galle Fort is only a short Tuk Tuk ride away. As are activities such as whale watching, trips to the tea plantations, turtle hatcherys and the local wildlife parks.

The Villa comes equipped with Cable T.V, DVD and 4G Wi-Fi.

The House Manager will greet you on arrival, orient you to the house, facilities and local attractions and will assist you throughout your stay.

Our friendly staff will attend to your every needs and can prepare local or international breakfast. If you would like to dine in the villa please just ask the chef what you would like on the menu and he can arrange. Highlights include seafood BBQ from the local fish market and Sri Lanka curry (of course).

Sudu Gedara is 15 minutes from the entry to the Southern Express way and 2 hours from Colombo International Airport.

Guest access

Easy access to local beaches and just few minutes away from the famous Unawatuna restaurants and bars. You will have sole access to the entire house, gardens and pool .

In addition arrangements can be made for whale watching, Yoga, visits to the tea plantations and much more.

In addition to the onsite staff. You'll be able to contact the villa management for any additional requests necessary.

The neighborhood

Sudu Gedara is located in the village of Koggala, which is a pleasant, friendly and quiet Sri Lankan village.

Koggala and Talpe beach where there are many upmarket restaurants and bars is a 15-20 minutes walk or a short 5 minute Tuk Tuk ride away.

Unawatuna Beach with its variety of dining and night life opportunities, is also very easily accessible by Tuk Tuk and is approximately 10 minutes away. Wijaya Beach, a landmark and popular beach restaurant and bar, serving delicious wood fired pizzas and local dishes, is located just 15 minutes away within easy tuk tuk ride to the beach and is protected by the reef making it perfect for a safe swim in the ocean.

There are good local food and grocery outlets in the village where you can obtain all the necessary items for a self catering holiday.

Local restaurants can also prepare meals for Take-a-Way; just ask our friendly House Manager can advise on both.

Getting around

Sudu Gedara can easily arrange for transport for all guests needs. A vehicle with a private driver, scooter rentals and Tuk Tuk options.

Private transport can be arranged upon request to collect you and return you to the Airport too. Off road parking is available.

Other things to note

Sudu Gedara can comfortably accommodate up to 8 adults. Baby cots and chairs can be made available on request.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
