A truly unique, light & airy riverside dwelling set within the walls of this lovingly renovated medieval house.

The cool colours of the ancient stone walls combine with the thoughtful renovation with its high ceilings and quiet atmosphere to create a very calm and relaxing space for your holiday.

The house has direct access onto the riverside garden and is just a few steps from the covered market square at the heart of the village.

"IMPORTANT NOTE"

A TAXE DE SEJOUR is now unfortunately obligatory. This is a charge applied by the French Government and is applicable only to those over the age of 18. It is a charge/night at 5% of the total cost/person. Once your reservation is confirmed and a complete payment has been made, I will send you a booking form that you would need to complete. This form will have details regarding the Taxe de Séjour which will need to be paid prior to your arrival.

There are 2 terraces. One of about 90m2 which overlooks the river and the hills opposite. Part of it is covered to provide shade. It is equipped with a BBQ, a sink, sun loungers, a sofa and a large dining table. Access to the river is possible from the courtyard. The other opens directly onto the kitchen with a view of the shaded courtyard below.

The apartment is situated on the first floor with the exceptionally large terrace above - hence the name of the apartment. Sunset views and alfresco cooking facilities overlooking the river, the 12th century hump-back bridge & hills opposite.

Access is via the cobbled shady courtyard and up the spiral staircase. If you have any concerns about accessibility due to the mobility of any member in your party, please contact me first and I'll talk you through.

The accommodation is for 6/7 but please ask if you are a party of 7 first.

There are 3 bedrooms. Each has its own bath or shower room and good, comfortable mattresses with top quality linens.

There are 2 double bedrooms. One has the option of being either 2 twins or a large double depending on your preference.

These 2 rooms are on the riverside so you can fall asleep to the gentle sounds of the water trickling by. The 3rd bedroom is a twin & looks onto the courtyard.

You can be part of nearby activities or enjoy quiet relaxing time on the largest terrace in the village!

Lagrasse is genuinely lovely & unspoilt.

There are several excellent restaurants, a couple of bars, a baker, Pharmacy, Post Office, 2 doctors, a newsagent & numerous local artisan shops & galleries.

Swim in the river, go for a leisurely walk in the hills nearby, a bike ride, sample oysters freshly plucked from the sea, or simply relax on the terrace & watch the sun go down.

Linen, towels, hair dryer & iron are included.

Recently refurbished to a very high standard, this apartment overlooks the river Orbieu. Step through the cobbled courtyard and find yourself in the heart of Lagrasse, seconds away from all the amenities and restaurants. The accommodation has a degree of flexibility with double beds or more singles available on request. All the interior accessories are antique or have been custom made for the apartment. Perhaps the most exciting feature of this apartment is the top terrace - see below for further details. The smaller kitchen terrace is also a lovely place to breakfast or dine. The kitchen is well equipped with gas hob, oven, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, microwave and all accessories required to turn out your holiday meals.
All the bedrooms have modern en suite well finished bath or shower rooms, with the largest having a cast iron roll-top bath. The gite has unlimited hot water. We provide all bed linens in fine white Egyptian cotton.

Further details outdoors

The riverside top terrace is 90 square meters. It is half covered to provide shade for those wishing to keep out of the sun. It has a characterful old stone sink, a BBQ/Plancha and a cold shower for those of you who might wish for a speedy cooling off on those hot summer days!

There are loungers and a dining table seating eight. The terrace offers lovely views to the hills opposite and frequently the spectacular sunset (the sun sets opposite). The kitchen terrace looks onto the internal courtyard and offers an atmospheric location for a morning coffee or evening meal. There is ample parking in the village car parks only a 3 minute walk away.

Why can't I call Nicole (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Nicole (the owner) a message.

If Nicole (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
