Lagrasse is designated one of France's most beautiful villages and is perfectly situated for all manner of beautiful walks: river and gorge, vines and olives, garigue and forest, mountain and valley. With 3 bars, fine epicerie, boulangerie, galleries, craft workshops, six restaurants and wine galore, there is little need to venture elsewhere. However, with it's proximity to the autoroute, the beaches of the Med, Carcassonne, Toulouse, Narbonne, Perpignan, Montpellier and the Camargue are in easy reach - even Barcelona is only 3 hours away. Take the twisty roads through the glorious gorges of the Corbières and the astonishing Cathar castles are on the doorstep
The river, dammed in the summer to provide exquisite swimming, is bordered by the Abbey and the medieval waterfront and is crossed by 2 bridges one a fine Roman bridge.
The summer months are very animated with various music festivals, piano concerts,folk dancing, theatre,circus,pottery & book fairs...firework display from the old bridge on 13th July followed by Bastille day celebrations with a much bigger display on the 14th in Carcassonne- 40 mins away.

Tucked into the heart of the Corbières in southern France, Lagrasse attracts an extraordinary variety of residents, complementing its salt-of-the-earth locals. The tiny population of 630 people live in this medieval listed village surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, its backdrop dominated by an 8th century working Abbey. Situated in a valley surrounded by Mediterranean hillsides full of rosemary, thyme and cyprus trees, the river Orbieu meandering through the village, Lagrasse attracts thousands of visitors each year, some of whom never leave, falling in love with this picture postcard example of rural France and changing their lives to allow them to pursue their dream.
Lagrasse is one of those 'centres of the universe'; you can be drinking in a bar in LA and meet someone who's been to Lagrasse; Manhattan is full of Lagrasse lovers; from Nepal to Cape Town, Moscow to Rio de Janeiro, visitors come from all over the world, attracted by that intangible 'pull' that Lagrasse quietly exerts.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
