Lampedusa is constituted by a flat limestone platform which culminates in the north with a series of cliffs. The south coast instead, alternating with small hills and protuberances that enclose beautiful beaches of white sand.

Closer to Africa than to Italy, the island is surrounded by a spectacular seascape, with incredible colors ranging from transparent-blue, turquoise and emerald green. The site does not allow any farming because the soil is mostly dry and stony. Residents live mainly from tourism and fishing.

Discoveries and findings in the area, attest to human settlements on Lampedusa dating from the Bronze Age. In 1843, the island owned by an aristocratic family (one of its members, Giuseppe Tomasi, was the author of the famous novel The Leopard) was subsequently acquired by King Ferdinand.

Circumnavigation of the island, the island has efficient boats for private tours or group at cheap prices. The collective tour starts from the various marinas usually at 10:00 am with return at 17.00.

The low and jagged coast of Lampedusa is full of coves and bays; including the Tabaccara is a beautiful bay washed by turquoise waters. The north shore has a cliff top with plenty of impressive caves. After the Bay of Madonna (which gets its name because of a rock that looks like the Virgin Mary) is the Sacramento Cliff, with a deep cave.

An underwater world represented by a mostly sandy bottom, suddenly turns into a dark green, creating underwater plains. This is thanks to the Posidonia, a marine plant known as the lungs of the Mediterranean to the oxygen released into the water.

Lampedusa is a paradise for diving enthusiasts as it can enjoy a pristine habitat of corals, sponges, corals, and pleasant encounters with fish and colorful parrot, from Cape Grecale only 50 meters deep, lobster .

For any need we can facilitate your boat rental, car, motorcycle, and deck chairs in the various coves in addition to organizing days with excursions in the perimeter of the island.

The area to the northeast is known as Cape Grecale where it erected a lighthouse visible about 60 miles away and you can enjoy a beautiful view of the coastal landscape. Then there is the Cave of the Skull (Skull Cave) which conceals a long sandy beach, accessible by boat or along a rough trail. Tourists are advised to hire a scooter, bike or car tour. The fjords in the south of the island is designed ramp takeoff and landing airport to and from various destinations.

At the highest point of Lampedusa (about 133m above sea level) it is erected the 'Tree of the Sun, a circular including a stone wall (to the west you can see the island of lamp) and a wooden crucifix that overlooks a steep slope where you can enjoy spectacular views, being careful not to lean too.
